Swifties, bookmark these Taylor Swift-inspired activities and events in Singapore
1. Bask in the (cruel) year-long summer
So we’ve loved Singapore for three summers now. Okay, who are we kidding? It’s summer all year round here. And there’s no better place to soak in all that Vitamin D goodness than on the iconic island of Sentosa.
If you need more reason to visit, Malaysia’s Swifties will be hosting a pre-Eras Tour pool party at Adventure Cove Waterpark. On 3 March 2024, grab your cutest pair of sunnies and swimwear for a three-hour sing-along session at Bluwater Bay. Tickets are priced from $32, with a limited edition tote bag offered to the first 300 attendees, so snag your spot early!
While you’re there, say hello to sun-kissed beaches like Siloso and Palawan Beach, with sandy shores, delicious beach grub and plenty of photo-worthy spots. After catching some rays, get your dose of thrills and spills at the adrenaline-packed Universal Studios Singapore, 47m-high bungy jump at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett, or floating aqua park Hydrodash. Come evening, we recommend watching the sky turn to dusk from charming alfresco restaurants at Quayside Isle.
2. Explore Singapore’s crowning jewel for a bejewelled time
What’s a trip to Singapore without exploring our indisputable crowning jewel? Jewel Changi Airport boasts more than 280 retail stores and dining options across 10 floors, this is far from your average shopping mall. Indulge your inner shopaholic at local fashion hotspots Pedro, Pazzion and The Shirt Bar, and feast at well-loved restaurants like Arteastiq and Shang Social.
Come 1 March 2024, the Shiseido Forest Valley will transform into an enchanting venue for Swifities to jam along and dance through Taylor’s different eras. Don your fave Eras-inspired outfit, stack those friendship bracelets, and join local artists Joie Tan and 53A at this magical singalong party. Best believe it’ll be a bejewelled time.
End off the party while admiring the world’s tallest indoor waterfall: the HSBC Rain Vortex. Oh, and be sure to get your cameras ready for the waterfall’s light and sound show! The spellbinding spectacle happens at 8pm and 9pm daily, with an additional show at 10pm on weekends, the eve of public holidays and public holidays.
3. Watch sparks fly at swoon-worthy date spots
Catching Taylor Swift in concert with your boo? We say it’s the perfect opportunity to live out all your Love Story fantasies. The island is nothing short of intimate cocktail bars that will put you right in the mood for romance. In true Swiftie fashion, White Shades will be kicking off a Taylor-themed week from now till 10 March 2024. Immerse yourself in a wonderland of all things Taylor Swift, while celebrating with her top hits.
Don’t forget to try her (reportedly) fave cocktail, the French Blonde – it’s a delicious blend of St Germain elderflower liqueur and Bombay Sapphire gin. We hear Plume, Smoke and Mirrors, Bar at 15 Stamford, La Maison Du Whisky, Sago House and Employees Only will also be serving this special tipple – so you know where to go.
Continue the romance with a secret little rendezvous at inconspicuous spots, such as Night Hawk at Tanjong Pagar and Taylor Adam, a bar disguised as a bespoke tailor. Alternatively, turn back the clock and step into olden Singapore at speakeasy bar Mama Diam. Decked out in nostalgic interiors, this unique bar serves up local-inspired tipples that offer a taste of cultural heritage.
Round off your date at Marina Bay. Take a stroll along the mesmerising river set against gorgeous skyscrapers, and catch the spellbinding light and water show Spectra that unfolds nightly. In an ode to Taylor Swift, a 14-minute special, The Eras Tour light and water show, will take place daily from now till 7 March 2024. Admission is free, but register online for access to the lower boardwalk. Cameras out, as the iconic Marina Bay Sands facade will also be illuminated in the colours of The Eras Tour every night from 7pm to 11pm!
While you’re in the area, why not walk down memory lane with Taylor at The Eras Tour Trail at Marina Bay Sands? From now till 13 March 2024, journey through seven installations at The Shoppes for a visual experience of her 10 eras. Don’t forget to stop by The Eras Tour retail pop-up store at Sands Expo and Convention Centre to snag official merchandise like apparel and vinyl. 7. Take your friends to the summit
In Taylor’s words, karma takes all my friends to the summit – and we’re spreading the good karma by divulging the city’s most iconic vantage points.
Perched high above sea level, rooftop restaurants serve spectacular skyline views and mouth-watering delicacies. Make your way to the heart of Singapore’s iconic shopping belt, Orchard Road, and take the lift 55 storeys up to 1-Atico – an all-in-one restaurant, bar and lounge offering world-class services. Or, escape to tropical paradise at 1-Altitude Coast; this premier day-to-night beachfront playground promises a revelry to remember.
Don’t mind a little sun (and humidity)? Lace up your running shoes and get your steps in on Singapore’s best hiking trails. Take a stroll along the picturesque Southern Ridges, or trek up the highest natural peak at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Spoiler alert: lush foliage and panoramic views await you…
8. Spend a purr-fect arvo at a cat cafe
Can you really call yourself a Taylor Swift fan if you don’t share her obsession with cats? As a proud mum of three kitties, Taylor surely won’t pass on a chance to curl up with some furry pals.
Add some feline therapy to your itinerary – complete with cats, coffee and cake. Drop by NekoTown Cat Cafe for an afternoon with adorable breeds like British Shorthair and Ragdoll at just $9 per hour. How about art jamming with some furry pals? Set aside a day and swing by Wildflower Studio for a restorative artsy sesh with its six resident cats.
9. Have breakfast (and more) at midnight
Who says breakfast is only reserved for the morning? Rule breaking is allowed as long as you’re feeling 22, says Taylor. Night owl or not, you don’t wanna snooze on the city’s best-kept gems after the sun sets.
First up, supper has to be on the list – sorry, we don’t make the rules. With late-night spots scattered all around the island, satisfying your hunger is easily within reach. Indulge in local fare like pratas at Al-Azhar and Srisun Express; hearty nasi lemak from the famed Ponggol Nasi Lemak; or peppery pork rib soup from Founder Bak Kut Teh.
Wanna have supper like a true blue Singaporean? You can’t miss out on an indulgent hotpot feast at Haidilao. Plus, we hear the City Square Mall and Bedok Mall outlets have friendship bracelet-making stations on weekdays until 10pm. Time to get started on stringing your arm candy!
Stomach’s filled, but night is still young? Soak in gorgeous twilight views while going on a night cycling sesh around Marina Bay; visit the world’s first nocturnal zoo at Night Safari Singapore; or stock up on local snacks at our 24-hour supermarkets.
10. For when you miss Taylor like the very first night
Everyone talks about The Eras Tour, but nobody talks about the post-concert blues that lie ahead. Thankfully, there’s a line-up of awesome Taylor Swift events in Singapore, so you’ll feel less dark grey and all alone.
This March, cafe and curatorial art space Main Street Commissary will present an exclusive Taylor Swift showcase. A collaboration with local creator From The Vault SG, Fever Dream High will feature custom-made cassettes and artworks inspired by iconic lyrics from every era. Swifties can also look forward to a friendship bracelet-making and exchange station; pen love letters to Taylor; and sip on specialty drinks curated based on her faves. The best part? Admission is free for all!
Over two weekends (9-10 March and 16-17 March 2024), the showcase will come alive with a bustling Swiftie market. Shop themed merchandise and handcrafted items by fans, receive a personalised poem from Graceful Quills, and get your caricatures drawn by Jellycaricature.
More Swift-inspired events? We got you. Head to the Singapore Sports Hub Library to make some friendship bracelets, pen sweet love letters to your besties, and shake it off in a dazzling dance battle. And yes, these activities are free and open to the public.
On 15 March, save the date for one last sparkling night with fellow Swifties at Main Street Commissary’s Afterglow Party. You’ll get to play stupid games and win stupid prizes (Taylor’s words, not ours). Plus, re-live the Eras Tour movie and compete in a best-dressed contest, while munching on cookies and drinks. Snag your ticket ($35 per pax) for a night you won’t want to let go of.
