We know what you are thinking, Ku De Ta is best know for its luxurious pool-side cocktail sipping, but not on Sundays… Sundays are when the little ones take over! The Aravina Restaurant is located within the Bali Equestrian Centre in trendy Canggu and has to be one of the best family friendly restaurants in Bali. Wana Restaurant, Gianyar
Surely it is every child’s dream to eat their lunch with lions? [Even we are pretty excited about that prospect]. Well at Wana Restaurant, Lounge & Bar, at Bali Zoo, you can do just that. Bring the family and come into the ‘wana’ [jungle in Balinese]. It is set in a two-story tree house next to the lion’s area, and through the thick glass windows you will have the experience of being up close and personal with the animals. There is even a special ‘Cubs Tea’ menu for the little ones to enjoy, with sandwiches, spring rolls, scones and tea.

Warung Sopa, Ubud
This is a vegetarian café ideal for families with kids with bundles of energy who love playing outdoors! There are things to do for kids of all ages, including a playpen with lots of colourful toys for the younger kids, and an outdoor large play area, complete with tyre swings, for the older children. The dishes at Warung Sopa are mainly fusion of Japanese and Indonesian cuisine, and they cater for children of all ages with lots of different food options available.

Want to really treat the kids? How about a lavish high tea at Biku? Yup, the grand dame of high tea in Bali is undoubtedly Biku. Kids will squeal with delight when the gorgeous three-tiered tray arrives bearing all sorts of goodies including cupcakes, scones, and fairy bread. And yes, there is a special kid’s high tea as well as the normal version, so the kids can play adults for the afternoon! And just incase you worry about what all that sugar from cakes, scones and jam will do to the little ones, don’t worry – they will also be getting a good dose of protein from the array of ham and peanut butter sandwiches and spinach quiche on offer… Panic over! Who doesn’t love Peter Pan? Well channel your inner Captain Hook and head to Pirates Bay Bali for some family fun! This pirate-themed open-air cafe and restaurant comprises of a replica pirate ship on the sand, tree houses, a bay lookout tower, a pirates’ kitchen and a fun host of treasure hunt activities in which you can participate as a family. Pizza Bagus, Ubud
If the restaurant is called Good [bagus means good in Balinese] Pizza, then you know you are on to a winner with the little ones. This was one of, if not the, first pizzeria in Ubud and has been the firm favourite Italian haunt in the area since then. Bring the family and enjoy an affordable feast of classic Italian dishes, including pastas, pizzas, and their signature carbonara, and don’t forget to try their gelato – the only problem is deciding on which flavour! Plus, kids are given crayons and paper to keep them busy, and there is also darts and futsal for the teenagers.

The Cashew Tree, Bingin
The Cashew Tree offers fresh and healthy upmarket warung style food, in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. There is a huge grass lawn for the little ones to run around in, plus a special kids area located on the decking which is full of treasures to keep the little tykes busy for hours, including toys, books, dolls, games, pencils, paper, colouring in books, whiteboard and markers. And if they fancy a bit of fantasy play, there is a brightly coloured old boat in on the grass ready to be taken to sea and capture by pirates… [You know the drill!].
