Wood-fired pizza, family-friendly vibes and a brand new Sunday brunch by the sea - Sanur is officially on our foodie radar!
Sanur really is one of Bali’s best kept secrets. Its sleepy rep has kept the island’s crowds away from this stunning seaside village, preserving the sweeping white sand beach and pristine, charming streets. Chirping birds can still be heard from flowering tropical foliage, and Sanur’s salty sea air has room to cascade through lush tropical landscapes, particularly within the boundless Balinese gardens of Hyatt Regency Bali…
Making for one helluva tropical setting, Hyatt Regency Bali is where you’ll find two of Sanur’s hottest new restaurants, tucked away within the resort’s oasis-like grounds. Just footsteps from the Sanur seafront, Omang Omang is the resort’s architectural spectacle that dishes up gourmet comfort food from Indonesia and beyond, while the beachfront Pizzaria is where you’ll find authentic Italian done right, and Bali’s newest Sunday Brunch. But that’s not all…
While this is five-star resort feasting at its best, Hyatt Regency Bali’s dining destinations come without the hefty price-tags – or the pretentious vibes. Matching the prices and laid-back atmosphere of its neighbouring cafes and restaurants, the top quality dishes and drinks here are as affordable as they come, served up in cool and casual environments…
The beachfront Pizzaria
Sitting right on the beachfront of Hyatt Regency Bali, Pizzaria is the only seaside Italian restaurant in Sanur, located right beside the coastal promenade and jogging track. With a totally al fresco bar and dining area that soaks up ocean views all around, Pizzaria is one of Sanur’s most stunning lunch and dinner spots that’s open to everyone, not just resort guests.
Making use of locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible (most of the fish comes direct from Sanur’s own fisherman), you’ll want to try Pizzaria’s ocean-fresh tuna carpaccio, delicately topped with a sprinkling of capers, parsley, dill and rucola, plus a final squeeze of zesty lime. The thin-crust, wood-fired pizzas are also a must (they’re made from traditional sourdough), from the Seafood Pizza stacked with seaside delicacies, to the Burrata Pizza that’s loaded with creamy cheese, prosciutto and pesto. Round it all off with the chocolatey Mocha Tart, sided by a silky yogurt gelato…
Our top tip? Check out Pizzaria’s weekly schedule of activities to really make the most of this Sanur showstopper. Every evening from 5-7pm it’s Happy Hour on Pizzaria’s oceanfront wooden deck, while Latin Salsa takes over Tuesdays, Thursdays see live acoustic music, and Fridays are where it’s at for late night DJ sets.
A Delicioso Sunday Brunch
Pizzaria is also home to Bali’s newest Sunday Brunch, where friends, families and lovers alike can graze the day away directly on the beach. Not only serving Italian staples, the Sunday Brunch is a fabulous fusion of favourites from both Omang Omang and Pizzaria, with live cooking stations and top quality dishes that have been carefully curated to form thoughtful brunch plates you’ll love.
Unlike most other brunches, you won’t find an endless array of random dishes here. Instead, this Sunday Brunch is all about quality dishes that you’ll want two or three servings of. Quality over quantity, if you will. That being said, there’s still more than enough to choose from here, from Italian and international cold cuts, cheeses and seafood, to Indonesian essentials, desserts, frozen cocktails and Italian sodas.
And don’t forget to bring the whole family, because this Sunday Brunch is serenaded by a lively acoustic duo, and topped off with entertainment and an awesome kids playground. There’s also two alcohol packages to choose from if a boozy brunch is on the cards, and as always here, it’s unbelievably affordable.
And that’s why Sanur is officially on our foodie radar…
