Welcome to Sundays
Before you even step foot onto Sundays’ sparkling white sands, the stunning clifftop views from high up above the beach club will take your breath away – every single time. It begins with a magical wander through The Ungasan Clifftop Resort, before a cliff-hugging escalator sails you down to the secluded cove, where pristine white sands and a glittering lagoon await at the edge of the earth. Friendly smiles from the always-attentive staff will then whisk you away to your very own sun lounger, where you can laze the day away amidst Sundays’ heavenly combo of sand, sea and sun-soaked splendour. But this exclusive beach club doesn’t only rely on the sheer beauty of its natural backdrop to wow you away. Oh no siree. Sundays Beach Club comes glamorously armed with world-class cocktails, gourmet goodies and five-star facilities aplenty – wrapped up in island-chic interiors and six-star service fit for a celeb. Welcome to Sundays Beach Club…
Breakfast on the beach
We can’t count how many days we’ve lazed away at Sundays, so as seasoned beach club buffs, our pro tip is to arrive early to nab the best spot on the beach – and to get a taste of the brand new breakfast menu from Australian Executive Chef Josh Tyler. Just like the lip-smackingly delicious all-day menu, the brekkie lineup is inspired by locally-sourced ingredients, dished up every morning from 9am. There’s healthy takes on the classics, like the Porridge of Seed and Grains (with local ginger, rhubarb, fresh honeycomb and strawberries from nearby Bedugul) and the Charred Kale with avocado, edamame, dukkah, and the most incredible sesame seed tahini we’ve ever tasted – loaded on homemade sourdough. There’s also the hearty bowl of mushrooms on a parmesan and gruyere potato rosti, tropical smoothie bowls and wood-fired brioche, as well as good ol’ eggs on toast. And the best bit? Sundays’ in-house mixologist is on hand to whip up a round or two of brekkie cocktails (Bloody Marys, Bellinis or Mimosas, anyone?). Now that’s how you do breakfast in Bali!
Lounge like a celeb in a VIP Beach Bungalow
Honestly, we didn’t think a day at Sundays Beach Club could get any more fabulous – that was, until they unveiled their brand new VIP Beach Bungalows. Like your very own piece of private beachfront real estate, these exclusive beach cabanas can be reserved for groups of up to eight guests (all yours from 9am – 10pm!) scattered with comfy beanbags, fresh fluffy towels and uninterrupted ocean views. But that’s not all. To really let you lounge like a celeb, these breezy VIP Beach Bungalows also come with your very own dedicated butler, a private bathroom and shower, daybeds on your own private patch of sand, and two complimentary bottles of Chandon to toast to the occasion. And for extra-special get-togethers, the bungalows can be booked for sunset soirees or cocktail parties too, and romantic couples’ dinners with silky smooth rose petals included (more on that later!). These VIP fortresses are without doubt the most fabulous way to experience Sundays Beach Club – like a true celeb!
Fun in the sun (and sea!)
With its twinkling, crystalline waters just a few sandy footsteps from your sunbed, diving into the deep blue sea should be high up on your sun-soaked agenda. Luckily, Sundays Beach Club is all for your aquatic adventures, offering complimentary kayaks, paddle-boards, fins, and snorkelling gear to take out onto the lagoon whenever you please. Lose track of time in between bronzing and brunching by exploring the lively coral reefs out front, taking the kids out for a cruise (or leave it to the expert life guards!) or simply float in the shallows with your besties and a glass of bubbles… just because.
Seaside spa sessions
Fancy blissing out beneath the breezy shade of a beachfront, open-air spa during your divine day at Sundays? You’ll want to book into one of the VIP Spa Bungalows. These five-star pampering cabanas overlooking the ocean are where you can treat your beach bod to fabulous massages, body scrubs, healing foot reflexology and so much more – all with the sound of lapping waves and a cool sea breeze as company. Our faves? Try the multi-hour couples retreats (including a traditional Balinese massage or signature deep tissue massage) and the Sun Soother treatment that treats your beached-out bod to a much-needed hydrating body mask and soothing slick of aftersun… Heaven!
A bonfire beneath the stars
If you think that a day out at Sundays Beach Club ends when the sun goes down, think again. Stick around until after sunset and it’s beachfront bonfires, beanbags, marshmallows and nightly happy hours ’til late. Yup, as the sun sets at around 6pm each evening, the bonfire is lit and a circle of beanbags fringe the flames as the turquoise sky turns a candy-coloured hue. And as a sparkly cloak of constellations appear, you can toast marshmallows with the kids or cosy up with bae and a bottle of bubbles – the perfect way to sign off a balmy Bali day!
Date night done right
Not only does golden hour at Sundays Beach Club mean time for a beachfront bonfire, it’s also when loved-up couples can take date night to a whole other level with a beachfront degustation dinner for two in the brand new VIP Beach Bungalows. Complete with all the perks of the VIP Beach Bungalow (your own private butler, bathroom and exclusive setting) this five-course couples dinner from Executive Chef Josh Tyler is perfectly matched with a selection of wines and a scattering of rose petals to set the mood – not to mention the oh-so romantic glow from the stars and moon above reflecting onto the Indian Ocean out yonder. Ooh la la!
Now that’s a day well spent at Sundays…
