White sands, azure seas and an entire day of fabulous fun in the sun. Sound like island heaven? You'll want to head south to Sundays Beach Club...
If your Bali bucket list includes a trip to one of the island’s most fabulous beach clubs (we like your style) then you’ll want to head down south in your hottest bikini to Sundays Beach Club. Hidden in a private bay in Uluwatu, this little piece of paradise is where you can soak up the sun beneath a breezy parasol, take a dip in the crystal-clear lagoon, lounge like a celeb in your own VIP Beach Bungalow and feast on gourmet food from a celebrity chef amidst iconic tropical-chic architecture – and that’s before we even mention the picture-perfect sunsets and beachfront bonfires by nightfall. Sound like your kind of island heaven? It’s a day well spent at Sundays Beach Club…
Welcome to Sundays Beach Club
Before you even step foot onto Sundays’ sparkling white sands, the stunning clifftop views from high up above the beach club will take your breath away – every single time. It begins with a magical wander through The Ungasan Clifftop Resort, before a cliff-hugging cable car sails you down to the secluded cove, where pristine white sands and a glittering lagoon await at the edge of the earth.
As your toes touch the sand, you’ll be whisked away to your oceanfront perch for the day: either a beanbag on the sand, or your very own VIP Sunbed (single or double), VIP Cabana or VIP Bungalow. Here you can laze the day away amidst Sundays’ heavenly combo of sand, sea and sun-soaked splendour. But this exclusive beach club doesn’t only rely on the sheer beauty of its natural backdrop to wow you away. Oh no siree. Sundays Beach Club comes glamorously armed with world-class cocktails, an award-winning menu and five-star facilities aplenty – wrapped up in island-chic interiors and six-star service fit for a celeb…
Lounge like a celeb in a VIP Beach Bungalow
Honestly, we didn’t think a day at Sundays Beach Club could get any more fabulous – that was, until they unveiled their VIP Beach Bungalows. Like your very own piece of private beachfront real estate, these exclusive beachfront cabanas can be reserved for groups of up to six guests for the entire day, complete with comfy beanbags, fresh fluffy towels and uninterrupted ocean views. But that’s not all…
To really let you lounge like a celeb, these breezy VIP Beach Bungalows also come with your very own dedicated butler, a private bathroom and shower, daybeds on your own private patch of sand, a bottle of premium sparkling wine, as well as welcome drinks, a fruit platter and marshmallows for the bonfire! You’ll even receive a picnic basket full of luxe beach essentials, as well as a whopping F&B credit to help you sip and graze the whole day through. These VIP fortresses are without doubt the most fabulous way to experience Sundays Beach Club – like a true celeb!
VIP experiences on the sand
Beyond the VIP Bungalows, there are other ways to get the five-star treatment at Sundays Beach Club, and that’s by securing a VIP seat on the sand. Sure, the regular daypass guarantees you a spot on either the beach or in the restaurant, but we say, nab a top spot to really make the most of it. You can choose between a VIP Single Sunbed, a VIP Double Bed, or a VIP Cabana, all of which are perched atop the sandy VIP Deck. And just like the VIP Bungalows, you’ll be treated to all sorts of goodies as part of the entrance fee. We’re talking F&B credit, welcome mocktails, fluffy towels, sunscreen and cooling gel, plus a portable mobile charger too! And did we mention, the VIP Deck is for adults-only, so choosing the VIP Experience is perfect for a romantic day by the beach, or for some cocktail-fuelled fun in the sun…
Top tip: arrive early and feast on the beach
We can’t count how many days we’ve lazed away at Sundays, so as seasoned beach club buffs, our pro tip is to arrive early. Not only will you get to nab the best spot on the beach, you’ll also get a real taste of the all-day menu, which is headed by celeb Aussie chef James Viles, and uses locally-sourced ingredients from Bali and beyond. You’ll find familiar dishes given the gourmet Sunday touch, like lobster rolls with Blood Mary mayo, barbecued butterflied prawns in garlic and parsley, and slow-cooked beef short rib with a homemade chimichurri. And because this is beachside grazing, you’ll also find beach-friendly classics like poke bowls, yakitori, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. And the best bit? Sundays’ mixologists are on-hand to whip up a round or two of daytime cocktails (Mojito, Margarita or Sangria, anyone?).
Fun in the sun (and sea!)
With its twinkling, crystalline waters just a few sandy footsteps from your beachfront perch, diving into the deep blue sea should be high up on your sun-soaked agenda. Luckily, Sundays Beach Club is all for your aquatic adventures, offering complimentary kayaks, paddle-boards, fins, and snorkelling gear to take out onto the lagoon. Lose track of time in between bronzing and brunching by exploring the lively coral reefs out front, taking the kids out for a cruise (or leave it to the expert life guards!) or simply float in the shallows with your besties and a glass of bubbles… just because.
A bonfire beneath the stars
If you think that a day out at Sundays Beach Club ends when the sun goes down, think again. Stick around until after sunset and it’s beachfront bonfires, beanbags, marshmallows and nightly happy hours ’til late. Yup, as the sun sets at around 6pm each evening, the bonfire is lit as the turquoise sky turns a candy-coloured hue. And as a sparkly cloak of constellations appear, you can toast marshmallows with the kids or cosy up with bae and a bottle of bubbles -–it’s the perfect way to sign off a balmy Bali day!
Now that’s a day well spent at Sundays…
