Sparkling ocean, a secluded white-sand bay, gourmet food, and sunset bonfires – here's all you need to know about Sundays Beach Club in Uluwatu.
If your island bucket list includes a trip to one of Bali’s best beach clubs (I like your style), you’ll want to head down south to Sundays Beach Club in Uluwatu. Hidden in a pristine bay, this little piece of paradise is my own personal favourite, as it’s one of the only beach clubs in Bali that sits directly on the sand.
It really is one of the best days out in Bali. You can lounge beneath blue skies and brilliant sunshine beside a crystal-clear lagoon, grazing on gourmet food from an Australian celebrity chef. And that’s before I mention the picture-perfect sunsets and the beach bonfires by nightfall.
If this sounds like your kind of island heaven, you need to spend a day at Sundays Beach Club…

Welcome to paradise, AKA Sundays Beach Club!

To find Sundays Beach Club, first you’ll need to wander through the magical grounds of The Ungasan Clifftop Resort. Take your time here, because before you even step foot onto Sundays’ sparkling white sands, the stunning clifftop views from above will take your breath away – every single time.
Once you’ve got the shot and soaked in the views, head over to the cable car that’ll sail you down to the secluded cove. The moment those cable car doors slide open, pristine white sands and a glittering lagoon await. It feels like the edge of the earth.
When your toes touch the sand, you’ll then be whisked away to your oceanfront perch for the day. Walk-ins can nab a beanbag on the sand, or if you’ve pre-booked a VIP Experience, you’ll be taken to your very own VIP Sunbed, VIP Cabana, VIP Bungalow or VIP Beach House.
All that’s left to do? Sip on world-class cocktails, feast on award-winning cuisine, and sink into your sunbed. Let Sundays’ magic do the rest…
Top tip: Pre-book a VIP Beach Bungalow

Honestly, we didn’t think a day at Sundays Beach Club could get any more dreamy – that was, until we booked a VIP Beach Bungalow. Like your very own piece of beachfront real estate, these exclusive cabanas can be reserved for groups of up to six guests for the entire day. They come with comfy beanbags, fresh fluffy towels and uninterrupted ocean views. But that’s not all…
These breezy VIP Beach Bungalows include your very own butler, welcome food and drinks, as well as access to Sundays Wellness! You’ll receive a premium VIP box full of luxe beach essentials, as well as a whopping IDR 7,000,000 F&B credit to help you sip and graze the day away. These VIP fortresses are without doubt the most fabulous way to experience Sundays Beach Club. Highly recommended!
Even more VIP experiences on the sand

Beyond the VIP Bungalows, there are other ways to get the five-star treatment at Sundays Beach Club. That’s by securing a VIP seat on the deck. Sure, the regular daypass guarantees you a spot on the beach or in the restaurant, but we say, nab a top spot to really make the most of it.
You can choose between a Queen Bed, a King Bed, or a VIP Cabana on the VIP Sand Deck or Wood Deck, all with elevated views over the ocean. And just like the VIP Bungalows, you’ll be treated to all sorts of goodies as part of the entrance fee. Think F&B credit, welcome drinks, a VIP box, and access to Sundays Wellness! The VIP Deck is for adults-only, so choosing a VIP Experience is perfect for a romantic day by the beach, or for some cocktail-fuelled fun in the sun…
A gourmet restaurant on the beach

After countless visits to Sundays Beach Club, my pro tip is to arrive early to get a real taste of the all-day menu. It’s led by celeb Aussie chef James Viles, using locally-sourced ingredients from Bali and beyond. You’ll find familiar dishes given the gourmet Sundays touch, like lobster rolls with Bloody Mary sauce, barbecued butterflied prawns in garlic and parsley, and slow-cooked beef tacos with pico de gallo. You’ll also find beach-friendly classics like loaded bowls, yakitori skewers, gourmet pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. And the best bit? Sundays’ mixologists are on-hand to whip up rounds of daytime cocktails (Aperol Martinis, anyone?).
Fun in the sun (and sea!)

With its sparkling ocean just a few sandy footsteps from your beachfront perch, diving into the deep blue sea should be high up on your sun-soaked agenda. Luckily, Sundays Beach Club loves an aquatic adventure, so they provide complimentary kayaks, paddle-boards, fins, and snorkelling gear to take out onto the lagoon. Lose track of time by exploring the lively coral reefs out front, or take the kids out for a cruise (don’t worry, there are expert lifeguards on hand!). Or, like me, simply float in the shallows with your besties and a glass of bubbles.
Stay for a bonfire beneath the stars

If you think that a day at Sundays Beach Club ends when the sun goes down, think again. Stick around until after sunset and it’s beachfront bonfires, beanbags, marshmallows and nightly happy hours ’til late. It takes place as soon as the sun sets at around 6.30pm each evening. The bonfire is lit, and as the sky turns to candy, you can toast marshmallows with the kids or cosy up with a bottle of bubbles.
Now that’s a day well spent at Sundays…
