Make no mistake: orchardgateway is far from your average cookie-cutter Orchard Road mall. This relative newcomer to the world of Singapore shopping offers more than just your run-of-the-mill high street labels, with edgy and offbeat tenants such as Hong Kong multi-label boutique i.t., menswear/unisex store Sects Shop which carries a bunch of hip Korean streetwear labels plus is the home of Singapore fashion labels Depression and Not Cool Enough; SUPERSPACE, which carries more Singapore fashion brands like Rêvasseur, and international streetwear labels like KTZ; plus the cool kids of eyewear, DH Sunglasses. If you dig the Bugis Street scene, but can’t be bothered to travel all the way there, fret not. This Yishun mall is about to get bigger and better. With no plans for slowing down, Northpoint Shopping Centre is still up and running with a range of electronics, fashion and lifestyle stores, while expansion is being done to create the megamall (aka Northpoint City) which will include a specialty food precinct called The Makan Town, themed shopping zones, and also an education cluster. The expansion is slated to be completed by the end of 2017.

Hang out by the riverside at the mall next to Punggol Waterway. Yes, we’re talking about Punggol Waterway! Catch a movie on the big screen at the 1,500-seat Shaw Theatres IMAX, bag the latest collections at H&M and Uniqlo, and one for the bookworms – read your way through Singapore’s largest Times bookstore!
