A trip to the movies, but with leather recliners and a full meal delivered straight to your seat? We checked out Shaw Lido’s Premiere Hall to see if this premium experience is worth the upgrade.
It’s movie season in Singapore (if all the blockbusters on show are any indication!), so when we were invited to experience Shaw Lido’s Premiere Hall, my colleague and I eagerly said yes. We were in for a treat – this premium movie theatre in Singapore offers in-theatre dining, plush seats, and customer service at the press of a button. Intrigued? - Tickets from $18 for adults, from $11 for kids, free for toddlers below 90cm

A first-class movie experience
If there was a first-class upgrade for a movie experience, this would be it. As soon as we stepped into Premiere Hall, we were greeted by the sight of an intimate theatre with plush leather recliners and comfy blankets on every seat. There are two premiere halls in total, with a capacity of 27 and 28 seats respectively. The recliners were particularly inviting, turning the usual movie-watching experience into something far more indulgent. Paired with the dining experience, we’d highly recommend this for a date night!
Each ticket ($40-45 per pax) comes with a complimentary $15 F&B credits which can be used on the same day for in-theatre dining and at all Centro concepts – including the restaurant at level five and the cocktail bar at level six.
We opted to enjoy our meal with the movie, and we loved the convenience of being able to order from our seats: we simply scanned the QR code on our individual tray tables to order, and the meal was delivered in a jiffy. If we needed anything more, we could call for a staff with the press of a button – almost like having a personal butler. How’s that for luxe service?
Cinema bites get a restaurant-level upgrade
With the in-theatre dining option featuring highlights from Centro, we skipped the popcorn for a full-on spread. The Centro pizza ($18) offered a cheesy, tangy and slightly spicy bite with mozzarella, pickled jalapeno, caramelised pineapple and fresh basil. For sides, we had potato scallops with a smoky chipotle mayo ($14), as well as a fried fish finger bao with green chili and coriander sambal ($16) – a playful riff on fish and chips, we think.
We washed it all down with a matcha latte and dirty matcha latte ($6 each), which were light and creamy sips. And because we wanted a typical movie snack for good measure, we added a New York hot dog ($14) to our table. An upgrade on the standard hot dog, this was made with a 100% all-beef frank on a brioche bun.
The verdict: Is Shaw Lido’s Premiere Hall worth it?
We’d say yes, especially if you’re planning for a special occasion or feel like treating yourself. Instead of a movie and a meal, why not enjoy both at the same time? With in-theatre dining, you won’t have to deal with the pain of reaching the end of the popcorn bucket halfway through the movie. Plus, the plush recliner seats were a dream. Overall, Shaw Lido’s Premiere Hall experience is making us wanna go to the movies again.
A peek into Lumiere Grand Hall and Dreamers Hall
Beyond Premiere Hall, there’s also the Lumiere Grand Hall, a revamped take on the former Lido Hall 1. This theatre now features ergonomic seats from Infinity Seating for premium support, with 295 sofa-style classic seats ($19-24 per ticket) and 36 recliner seats ($25-30 per ticket) to choose from. The latter also comes with swivel tables and USB ports. All tickets include a $7 F&B credits, which can be used at MovieBites and all Centro concepts at Lido.
The kiddos aren’t left out either: Dreamers Hall was made for the little ones, decked out in vibrant colours, comfy bean bags, plush lounge chairs, cubby hole seats, and room for the young ones to roam. It’s all free seating here, so you won’t have to worry about the little ones refusing to stay in one spot! This theatre holds 30 pax (including both kids and parents), and features lower sound levels for the little ones’ comfort. ( $18- $22 for adults; $11-$14 for kids; and free for toddlers below 90cm)
