For good design with a crazy amount of creativity, check out the Wallpaper* Handmade On Tour exhibit, happening at Gillman Barracks.
Who doesn’t appreciate good design? We’re all suckers for aesthetics and product design that is good-looking. From sleek-looking smart speakers to a statement chair for the study room, we’re all about good design that works in a busy household. Celebrating beautiful design and fresh creativity, Wallpaper* Handmade on Tour 2018 is a must-see if you are in the pursuit of good aesthetic.
Wallpaper* would know a thing or two about intelligent and influential design – their magazine is deemed one of the world’s most important voices in the design community. Teaming up with the DesignSingapore Council for the tenth year of Handmade, Wallpaper* will be bringing the ambitious annual project to Singapore – its first and only stop fresh from its debut at the Milan Design Week.

Opening on 12 June, now you can witness these bespoke and well-crafted objects up close at Gillman Barracks. This year’s Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition is taking us on a quest for mental and corporeal wellbeing, and the long and winding journey towards a better you. Expect objects that helps with self-improvement, exercises the mind and replenishes the body. We’ve already gone and done the homework for you and we were quite marvelled by the pieces.
The exhibition features a magnificent medicine cabinet by Olivia Lee and Nature Squared that comes with its own set of accessories (it has a secret compartment for caviar), a beautifully crafted Sunrise Mirror by Turkish design studio 15 West and German designer Ghycyz, a reflexology path made by some vintage tiles from Vileroy & Boch, Art Deco-inspired dumbbells in curved stone and dark steel by Davide Aquini and Lundhs Real Stone, and anti-stress objects in green kryptonite and white carrara marble by Zoe Mowat Casone. There are more objects on show of course, but we don’t want to be spoiling it for you…
