Venture through five hiking trails

Just like Rainforest Wild Adventure West, the East section has a handful of walking trails. They’re much easier compared to the ones in the West as well! Shorter and with less elevation, I found the treks easy on the knees and short enough so you can move onto new zones before your kids can lose interest.

One of my favourite trails is the Otter Trek. As you descend some sandy stairs, you’ll be right smack in the middle of the otters’ enclosure – you can’t get any closer or more personal than that! I was lucky enough to catch a whole family of otters swimming out, and traversed the rest of the trail to follow them as they slipped down the terrain.
Meet the animals

The otters aren’t the only animals you can see at Rainforest Wild Adventure East! As part of its Afro-Tropical and Madagascan-inspired environment, you’ll get to meet a multitude of creatures native to Africa and Madagascar.
A highlight in this zone is the okapi, an endangered animal from the dense forests of the Congo in Central Africa. It’s best recognised by its brown coat and zebra-like legs, and has made its debut in Southeast Asia through the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the okapi after it stopped hiding!
Other animals you can look out for include the African spurred tortoise, crested coua, and the African painted dog.
My favourite part of animal spotting was stepping into the lemur enclosure. Because of how far they can jump, the lemurs have been placed in a special netted area. But in this way, you can get very close to them! You’ll find the lemurs climbing trees, leaping along branches, and even right next to you on the bridge. During my visit, the lemurs weren’t aggressive or tried to grab my stuff, so I felt comfortable being close to them. But keep in mind they’re still curious animals and keep your belongings close.
Hop on unique Rainforest Wild rides

Just like the West zone, Rainforest Wild Asia East has a handful of adventurous activities you can participate in to experience this part of the zoo from a new perspective.
Each ride comes at an additional cost ($10 for all), so remember to book ahead if the kids want a chance to climb, swing, or glide through the park. There are also minimum (and maximum) height requirements, which you can find on the website before booking a session.
It’s also important to note that all activities aren’t sheltered, and will close if it’s raining or if there are any lightning risk alerts.
- Canopy Glider: Get a sky-high view of the park with a roll-glider ride.
- Treetop Traverse: Traverse the treetops with this adventure course and balance your way through a series of suspended bridges.
- Primate Climb: Put your rock climbing skills to the test and climb a strangler fig tree as you try to spot Diana monkeys.
- Ravine Swing: Hold tight as you soar up eight metres into the sky and go swinging through the Red Ravine.
- Split Rock Summit: Scale a vertical edge on a huge rock and be rewarded with sweeping views of the forest.
There’s plenty of fun for the whole family, so make a date and head to Rainforest Wild Asia East right now!
If you’re on the hunt for more interesting things to do with the family, here are some other attractions to check out:

It's best to book the activities in advance to reserve a slot for you and your family, especially because you have to pay to take part.
How long does it take to explore?
Depending on how much you want to see, it's worth taking the whole day and explore both East and West.
During my visit, I took around two hours to explore everything at Rainforest Wild Asia East. I didn't take any of the rides, but got to try all the treks and see all the animals.
Is this wheelchair accessible?
The canopy and bridge areas are flat and suitable for wheelchair users. However, the treks require you to either go down some stairs or brave through uneven terrain. So wheelchair users won't be able to see the full extent of the park.
