Gifts for kids in Hong Kong
1. Wooden toys and games from The Lion Rock Press

Hong Kong-based brand The Lion Rock Press not only makes wonderful gift cards and wrapping paper, but they also craft some wonderful wooden toys that make perfect gifts for kids. We love their iconic Hong Kong taxi toy, but our favourite is the gorgeous Hong Kong Yum Cha Set, which includes chopsticks and cutlery in the signature blue and white pattern, dim sum, tea pots and more. They have dual-sided jigsaw puzzle, a bingo game devoted to endemic animals, journals and so many wonderful gifts for kids in Hong Kong of all ages.

2. Ice-cream cakes from Haagen Dazs

No kids can resist a mouth-watering piece of cake. As one of the most popular ice-cream sellers in the world, Haagen Dazs makes beautifully crafted ice-cream cakes with attractive looks. Some of our favourite cakes are Royal Coronation, Fairytale Castle and Starry Night— too beautiful that your kids might find it a pity to slice it. Since Haagen Dazs ice-cream cakes are also available on FoodPanda, you wouldn’t have to worry about carrying them all the way back home.

4. Artsy party in the dark at Sketch Studios

An artsy party venue in Lan Kwai Fong, Sketch Studios hosts private blacklight and UV art parties. As the three-hour art session begins, kids will craft their unique pieces with a range of neon fluorescent materials, including body paints, wigs, chalks, masks, headbands and more. Although this is technically an experience gift, we’re sure your kids will thank you for organising such an unforgettable party.

5. Tons of cheap books from the Book Depository
If your kids are book worms, you have to get them something from the Book Depository. An international online book retailer based in the UK, Book Depository sells a huge variety of books that are much cheaper than usual prices. We like the fact that free delivery is provided on all orders, plus you can easily find the perfect gift for your kids by browsing their detailed categories. What’s more, you can purchase non-book products like Tarot card sets and Moleskine notebooks on their website.

6. Give kids the gift of volunteering

Sometimes the most memorable gifts are actually experiences, and this goes for kids too. There are a number of charities and businesses who offer volunteer programmes for you and your children so that you can help make a difference together. For instance, you can approach TwoPresents to start an invitation to raise funds for a gift as well as a charity at the same time.
From beach cleanups to reading programmes or helping with rescue animals, read our full guide on volunteering with kids in Hong Kong and do something really impactful this year.
7. Learn about Hong Kong’s pink dolphins

For any child that loves animals or the ocean, a trip on a boat to spot the endangered pink dolphins in the waters around Hong Kong will be the perfect gift. Lead by Hong Kong Dolphinwatch, the tour includes transfer to the boat and an environmental talk by one of the guides so that you and your children can learn about their plight for survival. Best of all, if you don’t spot any, the next trip is free! When it comes to gifts for kids in Hong Kong that are educational, this one can’t be beaten.

At LEGO, the possibilities are endless, you can build sets from your favourite movies and TV shows, or go for the classic sets – just be sure to not leave them on the floor, stepping on a brick is definitely not as fun as building them! If you’re not sure which set to get, you can simply get a gift card and let kids choose what they like best!
LEGO has multiple stores in Hong Kong.
