It’s December! (cue fanfare) Which also, unofficially, means that it’s time to roll out the Christmas decorations and set up your trees (what’s the festive season without anticipatory celebrations?). There’s lots to enjoy in Hong Kong this year with the lineup of holiday menus, Christmas events, and Christmas markets and fairs.

1. Christmas Bazaar at Spa Café, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental

Focusing on holistic wellness and lifestyle products, the Christmas Bazaar will return to The Landmark Mandarin Oriental on 4 and 5 December. It will take place from 12-5pm at Spa Café, featuring a whole range of beauty and wellness products. Shop from essential oils, bath, body and beauty care, to CBD oils and athleisure wear. To take the shopping experience to the next level, guests can enjoy mulled wine, festive cookies, and on-the-spot workshops while shopping for their favourite gifts!
Don’t forget to stop by Oriental Spa on 8 December for Silent Night. Guests will immerse in complete silence during the wellness journey and switch off for a CBD sleep therapy session.

2. Cookie Smiles x Joyce gingerbread creations

Celebrate the festivities with a good cause! 12 celebrity chefs have put their own spin on the classic gingerbread cookies. From 6 to 23 December, head over to the Joyce boutique at New World Tower, Central for the fun and heart-warming pop-up. The pop-up includes creations from chefs at The Upper House, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Cassio, Cookie DPT, and more!
Proceeds will go to ImpactHK and other charity organisations supported by the Cookie Smiles social enterprise, such as the Splash Foundation, The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, and graduates and employees from the Shine Skills Centre.

3. Affordable Art Fair Virtual Christmas Market
The team at Affordable Art Fair is bringing another round just in time for Christmas. If you couldn’t attend the previous fair, this is your chance! Until 6 December, you’ll be able to shop from an exciting range of curated artwork collections, videos, and partnerships to help you give an artful gift this year.

4. Swire Properties White Christmas Street Fair

After two years’ of absence, Swire Properties will bring back The White Christmas Street Fair this year with a Santa’s Whimsical Factory theme! The Christmas fair will take place from 2 to 5 December and will include six major categories: Christmas decor, skincare, confectionery, homeware, jewellery and accessories, and kids and pets.
All revenue collected – including rental income from vendors – will be donated to the annual charity campaign, Operation Santa Claus, to support people in need in the Hong Kong community.

5. Discovery Bay Christmas Market
Hosted by Handmade Hong Kong, the fortnightly Discovery Bay market features local, independent brands offering a range of products. This year’s markets include vendors such as 852prints, On The Wagon Kombucha, ImpactHK Limited, MiliMilu, and Thankyou Bees Honey, just to name a few. Really few – more than 100 vendors will bring their one-of-a-kind goodies to peruse, making this is a great chance to explore Hong Kong brands and #SupportLocal!

6. Prestige Fairs x Conrad Hong Kong Christmas Gift & Lifestyle Fair

The annual fair has free admission at Conrad’s stunning Grand Ballroom. Drop by anytime from 10am to 8pm on 9 December to shop from thousands of unique gifts and lifestyle products. You can find everything from fashion, accessories, eclectic jewellery, homeware, beauty, food, wines, and more! Shoppers can also enjoy 20% off on Conrad’s restaurants and cafes (to be used on the same day).

7. Island Shangri-La Christmas Market

Until 26 December, Island Shangri-La is celebrating the joyous occasion with a Christmas market that’ll feature limited edition items. One of the most eye-catching item for sale is the Nutcracker Snow Globe – all proceeds from this purchase will be donated to the Heep Hong Society. The Shangri-La Christmas Crackers and Advent Calendar will also be available. And keep your eyes peeled – some of the chocolate bars will hold a golden ticket that’ll win you an afternoon tea for two at the hotel! Don’t forget to snap your best pictures around the grand Christmas tree – the ornaments are designed and hand-painted by local illustrators (Bonnie Pang, Chow Siu Mou, Wai Wai, and Dixon).

8. Stanley Plaza Wild West Adventure Christmas Market

Stanley Plaza is undergoing a festive and all-American makeover! Starting 11 December for three consecutive weekends and on public holidays, head over for a unique experience of the Wild West at Stanley Plaza. The ‘Wild West Adventure Christmas Market’ will feature over 60 stalls, offering a variety of Christmas goodies, handcrafted works, and seasonal delicacies. Moreover, you can expect numerous photogenic spots – think cowboys, gold mines, and more – as well as game booths and a meet-and-greet with Santa himself. Yee-haw!

9. Asia Society German Christmas Market
The actual German Christmas Market in Munich might be cancelled this year (boo), but Asia Society is hosting its very own version here in Hong Kong – yay! At the festive stalls, you’ll be able to browse an array of handcrafted items and gifts, including ceramics, jewellery, woven goods, bags, and more. Furthermore, there will be creative family workshops, film screenings (’cause who doesn’t love Home Alone?), food and drinks offerings, live performances, and Christmas carols to ramp up the mood. If you’re lucky, you might be able to catch Santa, too!

10. A Christmas Aurora Odyssey at The Forest

Bask in the Nordic-style, Christmassy vibes at The Forest this season. As its Christmas market spills onto Sneaker Street in Mong Kok, you’ll be able to see the bustling MK area in a completely different light, featuring stalls designed in Scandinavian minimalist style. This market will be the perfect spot to stock up on your last-minute Christmas decorations and gifts – from eco-friendly apparel and baby clothes, to wines and snacks.

The Good Gift Christmas Fair (closed)
Crossroads Foundation, along with Fair Trade Hong Kong, is hosting a Christmas fun fair at the Crossroads Village in Gold Coast. Activities include tree climbing and a zip line with the Arboriculture Society of Hong Kong, simulations about world issues run by Crossroads, and crafts and fun activities from other vendors! You can also shop for handmade gifts, grab some snacks, or even volunteer to set up the fair.
