Channel your inner Serena Williams at Kallang ActiveSG Tennis Centre, the biggest of its kind in the city. Boasting 14 courts in total, this venue serves as a training ground for professional players. But it’s also open to friendly regulars and enthusiastic newbies. Be sure to book in advance, as the world-class facility is famous for actually being in tip-top condition (yep, no lingering stench of sweat here).

2. The Cage
Whether you’re a casual kicker or an ardent footy fan, soccer enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice at outdoor places for friendly matches. But if blazing skies or thunderstorms have you worried, the venue at Kallang offers indoor pitches for sheltered five-a-side futsal games. 11. Kallang ActiveSG Netball Centre
Singapore isn’t short of netball courts, but Kallang ActiveSG Netball Centre remains a hot favourite. The venue houses six spacious outdoor courts, with plenty of shower spaces and changing rooms to freshen up after a game. Book your hourly slots at $5 for non-peak hours and $12.60 for peak hours. Balls and bibs are also available for rent – just be sure to collect them within Netball Singapore’s office hours!

Think playing golf is only reserved for exclusive members of country clubs? Keppel Club, which has relocated from Bukit Chermin to Sime, now operates as a public golf course welcoming novices and experienced players alike. 16. ActiveSG Hockey Village @ Boon Lay
For an exhilarating game of hockey, make your way to the ActiveSG Hockey Village in Boon Lay. Practise your dekes and slap shots at this sheltered multi-purpose venue. Rent the pitch at $14.80 per hour during non-peak hours, or $19.40 during peak hours.
