Our new social bar crawl, Strangers & Spirits, presents an evening of cocktails and new connections across three thoughtfully curated venues at Palais Renaissance. Look forward to signature drinks, delicious bites and light-hearted activities that spark genuine connections.

Three curated stops, endless sparks
Forget what you know about stuffy social mixers with awkward small talk. Strangers & Spirits reimagines the socialising experience as a curated evening across three distinctive dining destinations at Palais Renaissance.
Throughout the night, you’ll be split into three groups and rotated across the venues. Each stop features a fun and laid-back icebreaker activity to get the conversation flowing. Rest assured a Honeycombers host will also be at each stop to help ease any initial awkwardness.
As you’re chatting, enjoy signature bar bites and pours. And best of all? You’re guaranteed to meet new faces at every stop.
Sip, meet, repeat
Now, we don’t want to spoil all the fun, but here’s a teaser of what to expect. We’ve handpicked three venues across Palais Renaissance and you’ll rotate through each one based on your assigned group. From French Fold’s Parisian charm and The Writing Club’s posh, intimate ambience, to a contemporary dining experience at PS.Cafe, each stop brings a distinct experience inspired by the restaurant’s unique setting and offerings.
French Fold: Parisian charm from day to night
A chic all-day dining spot by the Merci Marcel group, French Fold brings the spirit of a Parisian cafe to Palais Renaissance with its signature crepes, galettes, and relaxed yet refined ambience. Beyond its daytime appeal, the space transforms into an inviting evening spot with warm lighting and cosy interiors for dinner, drinks and easy conversations.
On the menu are the restaurant’s signature ham and gruyere, fourme d’Ambert and Ratatouille galette bites, as well as a selection of sweet crepe rolls. Enjoy this with your choice of a drink, which includes dry and sweet ciders, house wines, iced teas and fruit nectars.
As an ode to the restaurant’s French heritage, you’ll play a game of ‘Oui or Non’, a playful conversation starter to get to know each other’s stance on lighthearted, cheeky topics.
The Writing Club: A posh whisky library with handpicked spirits
Another stop on the rotation is The Writing Club. Equal parts posh and intimate, this whisky library is home to more than 700 hand-picked labels of unique, collectible whiskies and spirits from around the world.
Think places like Scotland, Japan, Taiwan and beyond. Besides the usual distilleries and whisky shops, the husband-and-wife duo even visits humble liquor dealers and stores to hunt down rare and prized vintages. Not a whisky fan? The bar’s wide selection also includes rums, cognacs, fine wines, craft beers and bespoke cocktails.
At The Writing Club, you’ll get to pick two drinks from a curated list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, including a seven-year-old Kildaton Islay Single Malt 2018 (a recent 9th anniversary release), as well as non-alcoholic alternatives like Shirley Temple and ginger beer. Enjoy these sips with complimentary cold cuts and cheese platters.
A game of ‘Whisky Confessions’ is on the agenda to get to know one another on a deeper level. Everyone will take turns to spill the beans on specific topics, and leave with fun facts about each other.
PS.Cafe: A timeless spot for good food and easy conversations
Completing the list of venues is PS.Cafe, a familiar favourite known for its hearty brunch plates, iconic shoestring truffle fries, and indulgent sweet treats and bakes.
This particular location at Palais Renaissance is extra Instagrammable. Thanks to the lofty ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and lush greenery, it makes an easy spot for casual gatherings, romantic dates and family hangouts.
Nibble on truffle fries and chicken bites, while sipping a cocktail or mocktail. Here, you’ll play ‘Two Truths & A Twist’, a guessing game where each person shares three statements about themselves, with one being completely made up. Try spotting the twists in this light-hearted game that’ll help you know one another better.
