Fancy affordable Korean set lunches and dinners? There’s no better neighbourhood to head to than Tanjong Pagar in the city
While I’m not a fan of K-pop or K-dramas, I am thankful that the popularity of K-culture in Singapore has encouraged the opening of countless new Korean restaurants. While not officially recognised, Tanjong Pagar is undoubtedly a ‘Little Korea’ of sorts, featuring a variety of Korean restaurants and supermarkets. But which ones should you check out? If you’re craving Korean BBQ, Korean fried chicken, or army stew, here are five Korean restaurants in Tanjong Pagar you’ll definitely want to hit up.
Prepare to get your hands dirty, and trust us when we say don’t wear white! If you’re not savvy with the divine combination of fried chicken, sticky sauces and light Korean lager, here’s where you’ll get an education. Standout classics here include the soya chicken wings and, for the seekers of spice, the yangnyum chicken. Cool the burn with the watermelon soju that comes served in a halved watermelon.

Don’t Tell Mama
This Korean establishment is a cafe by day and bar by night! Featuring an exotic fusion of Mexican and Korean food, you’d want to start your brunch with a bulgogi taco or a spicy chicken and avocado sandwich; be careful not to overdose on their scrumptious cheese and nachos cheese omelette!
Don’t Tell Mama, 52 Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088473, p. 6221 2007
Looking for lunch on a budget? One of our favourites on Tanjong Pagar road is Todamgol, with its $12 set lunches that come with rice and eight other banchan (side dishes that range from vegetables and kimchi, to omelettes and pickles).

Kko Kko Nara
Located on Tras Street, Kko Kko Nara serves up a mean dish of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). With four different flavours on offer – original, soy garlic sauce, sweet & spicy, and hot & spicy – there’s something for all taste buds here.

One Fork Two Stick Kitchen
Located along the tightly-knit shophouses of Tanjong Pagar Road, this Korean resto offers a mish-mash menu of salad, barbecue, and bar bites. But OFTS’ forte is undoubtedly their chicken dishes; go for their braised spicy chicken with glass noodles, and the fried wings with a choice of spicy sauce and soy garlic sauce.
