Don’t just settle for trick or treating! This October, ring in the Halloween season with these fun (and frightening) Halloween activities in Singapore

That’s because the season of Halloween is looming closer, folks, and there’s plenty to cater to all your fear fetishes. From Halloween buffets and Halloween parties, to some of the scariest Halloween events in town – these eerie and eccentric activities will give you one fright night to remember.
Battle it out in this Halloween clash of fighters
Whether it’s Bruce Lee, Sigourney Weaver, Chuck Norris or even Chun-Li, there’s always one fighting hero or heroine we can relate to. So stop fighting the urge to dress up, and unleash your inner spitfire at this Halloween party at OverEasy Orchard. Groovy guilty pleasures will be churned out by local DJs, KFC and KiDG, turning the campy American diner into a dancefloor for the devilish. We hear the best (and most badass) dressed even win a holiday to Bali – now that’s something worth scuffling for!

Brace yourself for an ear-shattering Halloween opera
Of tenors and terrors, OPERACALYPSE NOW!! looks to soundtrack this Halloween season by bringing songs (and screams) to your ears. Organised by L’arietta Productions, a Singapore-based chamber opera company, this musical showcase is themed around an ominous apocalypse – what will you do if you had one hour left to live, in a world plagued by asteroid disasters and brain-eating zombies? Part-romance, part-horror; all light-hearted fun in this three-part opera odyssey.

Enter a 1950s Scream Diner… if you dare
The party folks at Zouk never run out of ideas, do they? The iconic superclub always goes all out during Halloween, and it’s rolling out the heebie-jeebies this year with a vintage horror party that would even freak your grandma out. Zouk will be transformed into a grisly crime scene taking the form of a ’50s American diner, with kitschy pop-ups like gumball machines and milkshake bars, but alongside eerie elements like torture chambers and sacrifice rooms (that escalated quickly!). Will you survive this rave?

Party with this freaky circus atop a rooftop bar
You betcha: the circus is coming to town, or more specifically, to the top of Marina Bay Sands at CÉ LA VI. The spectacular rooftop party spot is bringing back London’s Cirque Le Soir this Halloween, to dazzle and dizzify the masses with magicians, sword swallowers, acrobats and freaky clowns (the worst!). Having flabbergasted folks for the last seven years, this ensemble of oddities looks to be a real heart-stopper.

Sip on Japanese Halloween cocktails
As hidden as the skeletons in your closet, this speakeasy-inspired bar in IZY Dining & Bar is packing a trio of poisons… we mean, cocktails, to get you in the mood for spook season. Prepared by bartender, Gento Torigata, these bespoke bevvies will give you the courage you need to face the night – the Noroi, a rum cocktail that translates to “curse” in Japanese; the Chi, a dry gin libation that’s a tribute to deceased Samurai; and the Kappa, a gin-absinthe concoction based on a river demon.
Caché, 27 Club Street, Singapore 069413, p. 9678 0027/6220 3327. All drinks are available through the month of October.

Scare yourself silly at Halloween Horror Nights
With all the traumatising stories we’ve heard from peeps who’ve survived this large-scale Halloween festival at Universal Studios Singapore – for the past six years and counting – this might just be the scariest spooktacular in Singapore. This year, the Hollywood theme park takes a ghostly turn, with petrifying ‘haunted house’ sets based on Old Changi Hospital, hellish hawker centres, witch houses and other locales we don’t wish to say. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
