Tiong Bahru Bakery offers some spanking new croissants that come in a variety of really interesting flavours
Can’t bear to part with your dollar bills for an expensive lunch, but not in the mood for local fare at the hawker centre either? If you’re a fan of croissants and a bit of an adventurous foodie, make a beeline for Tiong Bahru Bakery to try their new savoury croissants.
The warm, comforting treats come in four distinct variations: there’s the Jumping Fish, which is jam-packed with smoked salmon, spinach, ricotta, and creme fraiche; the Flying Pig (spicy pork sausage, caramelised onion jam, and miso dressing); the xiao long bao-inspired Rolling Dumpling (minced pork, sesame seeds, black vinegar sauce); and the Cheeky Chicken – TBB’s modern take on the classic egg mayo, this croissant’s made extra special with its soft boiled, silky ramen egg in the centre.
The croissants may look small, but don’t be fooled, they make a mighty filling meal. Get the lunch set at $12 (comes with a salad and two croissants of your choice), available from 11:30am to 3pm daily at all TBB outlets. If you prefer to have them individually, it’s $4.50 per pop.
