While the Hungry Ghost Festival might be behind us, Hong Kong’s Chiu Chow community is just getting the festivities started. 5. @N1MALX: Non-Human Life

6. Tai Kwun: Undercover Underworld

Attention cinephiles, here’s an exhibition you won’t want to miss! Step back in time at Undercover Underworld, an immersive showcase of Hong Kong’s golden age of cinema, with a focus on spy movies and undercover flicks. Spotlighting classics like Internal Affairs, City on Fire, A Better Tomorrow, and more, curators Sunny Chan and Kristof Van den Troost have worked alongside local artists to recreate interactive replicates of iconic scenes. The Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers has also donated several archival items, such as storyboards, scripts, and prestigious trophies, to be displayed at the exhibition.. 7. Versailles: The Lost Gardens of the Sun King

As summer reaches its peak, Visionairs at West Kowloon Art Park unveils Versailles: Lost Gardens of the Sun King, a groundbreaking virtual reality experience launched in collaboration with GEDEON Experiences, Small Creative, VIVE Arts, and Château dae Versailles. This innovative installation allows visitors to explore the magnificent gardens of the Palace of Versailles without leaving Hong Kong.

8. Gagosian: Harbour Fragments

Gagosian is bringing the vibrant works of American artist Rick Lowe to Hong Kong this weekend. Inspired by the city’s urban development, cityscapes, and unique fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, Lowe has created a brand-new series of works for his first solo exhibition in Asia. Through abstract aerial and harbour views of the city, Lowe presents our dynamic metropolis in a captivating and intriguing new form.
