Tampines Hub is home to the newly reopened library, and it’s equipped with a culinary studio, running track, exercise bikes and a hardware lab
Never had any reason to drop by Tampines? We don’t see why you shouldn’t – there’s so much to eat and things to do in Tampines, especially now with the spanking new Tampines Regional Library which reopens Saturday, August 5.
One thing we can tell you is that this library is unlike any other you’ve seen around town. Having moved to a new address at Tampines Hub, the unique library boasts a bigger space that’s not just for reading – it’s big enough to have a culinary studio, a 700m-long running track, a hardware lab with tools, as well as exercise bikes (with in-built reading stands) in the health section.
Patrons will have access to more than 40,000 books and many cosy reading nooks and crannies around the library. Get in line if you want a peek; we reckon there will be many curious folks present to see the new space. Say what you want, naysayers, but reading will always be cool, especially at this new reader’s wonderland in Singapore.

For your local literary fix, you can get the books from the offbeat independent stores around town.
