Thinking of taking photos to commemorate your new married life? Save your moolah (and that headache) by doing your pre-wedding photoshoot in Singapore!
When you think of locations for pre-wedding photoshoots, you’re probably thinking of countries like Jeju Island, New Zealand, and even the United States. But what if we told you that Singapore’s an excellent destination for wedding photography? Yes, don’t underestimate our Little Red Dot! Here are the top locations and hidden gems to immortalise your love in dreamy snaps.
Top pre-wedding photoshoot places in Singapore
1. Japanese Cemetery Park

Instead of flying to the Land of the Rising Sun for your wedding photos, save money and head to Japanese Cemetery Park. The floral archways, lined with pink bougainvillaeas, make the perfect substitute for cherry blossoms. You can also pose for photos outside the prayer hall. While you’re here, remember to observe respect for the departed: it is a cemetery, after all.

2. Arwaa Mansion

One thing we love doing is walking down Nassim Road and admiring all the posh houses, especially Arwaa Mansion. Sitting atop a hill on a massive land, this is the best spot in Singapore for your pre-wedding shoot. The combination of colonial architecture, lush greenery, and clear blue skies will make it look like you’ve had your photos taken in Rome. Drop by Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar to refuel when you’re done.

3. Esplanade Bridge

Here’s an unlikely place for your photoshoot consideration. Specifically, the area underneath Esplanade Bridge serves as the perfect backdrop. The two bridges and overall moody grey tone will make you and your wedding fit stand out. When you’re done, walk to Esplanade Park for more photo-taking. We reckon some shots at the playground and memorial would be good keepsakes.

4. Cavenagh Bridge

It’s said that this bridge in Singapore is a magnet for wedding photos, and they’re not wrong! Position yourself on Cavenagh Bridge and have the Asian Civilisations Museum or The Fullerton Hotel in the background. You can also have your photos taken at night – the weather is cooler, and you can capture the bridge lighted up.

5. Fort Canning Park

When it comes to pre-wedding photoshoots in Singapore, you can never go wrong with Fort Canning Park. There are plenty of spots in this expansive park for you to pose and preen in your bridal best. Sang Nila Utama Garden is an excellent option if you’re all about the Bali vibes; otherwise, have your photos taken at the ever-popular Fort Canning Tree Tunnel. Of course, you can’t miss out on Hotel Fort Canning! This five-star hotel is a wedding mecca in itself.

6. Lorong Halus Wetland

The lalang fields of Punggol and Tuas may be gone, but we know the next best alternative. Lorong Halus Wetland is a picturesque green space that’ll make you forget you’re actually in Singapore. Besides the cotton wool grass pastures, snap some photos at the Lorong Halus Red Bridge, ideally around sunset. Remember to slap on sunscreen and insect repellent, and you’re good to go.

7. Canterbury Road

Speaking of sunset, Canterbury Road is another prime location to capture beautiful wedding photos in the golden hour. This site is the go-to for many wedding photographers in Singapore, and it’s no surprise why. The rolling slope is terrific for romantic moments and even action shots! There’s also a hidden Japanese bamboo forest where you can pretend to be in Arashiyama. Be sure to take some photos at the canal as well: they’ll turn out better than expected. Who would’ve thought a longkang would make a fabulous wedding photo spot?

8. National Gallery Singapore

Escape the sweltering heat by having your wedding photos taken indoors. And which better venue to do it than National Gallery Singapore? This iconic art museum features many good spots for your wedding snaps. The Singapore Courtyard at the City Hall Wing, the Upper Link Bridges, and the Former Supreme Court Terrace are some of the best locations. If you don’t mind doing it outdoors, the museum’s facade is a favourite among couples. Honestly, there are just too many areas to pick!

9. Parkview Square

You may be familiar with this Gotham building from the outside, but have you looked inside? Parkview Square boasts dark woods, plush furniture, an intricately-decorated ceiling, and art sculptures that add a dark, sophisticated touch to your wedding photos. The Atlas Bar also serves as an incredible backdrop with its floor-to-almost-ceiling liquor cabinet. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the set of The Great Gatsby when you’re here.

If you’re looking for a standout photoshoot location, consider the S.E.A. Aquarium. While there might be many technical difficulties shooting here, trust us (and your wedding photographer); the final shots will go down swimmingly with you.

11. Jewel Changi Airport

We can’t talk about pre-wedding photoshoots in Singapore and not mention the country’s crown Jewel (pun intended). Pose in front of and near the waterfall, where the natural light shining through the glass ceiling helps produce stunning shots! When you’re done, head up to Canopy Park on the fifth floor and the link bridge that connects to Terminal 3 for more photo opportunities.

12. National Museum of Singapore

Who says shooting indoors is boring? Not if your photoshoot location is the esteemed National Museum of Singapore. The building’s contemporary architecture, characterised by beautiful white arches, structures, and staircases, exudes European minimalist elegance. Natural light from the glass ceiling ensures your photos are sufficiently bright. Unsurprisingly, this art museum is another popular pre-wedding shoot venue for couples.

13. The Projector

To all the chic brides and cool grooms, The Projector is an adorably quirky space for you to take your pre-wedding photos. The fairy lights on the ceiling, the disco ball at the centre of the room, and the wall murals lend a funky charm to your pictures. Bonus points if you can come up with wacky poses! This alternative cinema is highly recommended if you’re looking for something different.

Its grand neo-Renaissance architecture, high ceilings, and marble flooring make your photos luxurious. You’ll be the talk of the town after everyone has looked at your wedding photos.
