Turns out, we’re not the only ones who LOVE Locavore. Ubud’s locally-focussed fine dining restaurant has made history at this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards.
Everyone knows that Bali is the next culinary capital of the world [or maybe we’re just biased] and once again, Ubud’s famed fine dining hotspot, Locavore, has proved that some of Asia’s best bites can be can be found right here on the island.
In a triumphant win at this year’s Asia’s 50 best restaurants awards, Locavore has made history by skyrocketing up the Top 50 list to number 22 – a giant leap from last year’s position at number 49. Not only is this climb the highest ever in the list’s history, Locavore is also Indonesia’s only current entrant… High fives to Locavore’s superstar chefs, Chef Eelke Plasmeijer and Chef Ray Adriansyah!
Luckily for Bali’s foodies [and any other celebrity chef fanatics heading to the island this May] the Locavore boys will be making their annual appearance at this year’s Ubud Food Festival. Returning for its third year on 12th – 14th May, the Ubud Food Festival will be bringing in the biggest culinary players from around the archipelago, including celebrated chefs, restaurateurs, producers, professional food enthusiasts and food lovers for a three-day culinary adventure.
Team Locavore won’t be the only one there. The festival has become renowned for bringing in the big guns of the cheffing world, with past appearances featuring such Singapore kitchen celebrities as Julien Royer of Odette, Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends, and celebrity chef Ryan Clift of molecular fine-dining establishment Tippling Club – all of whom also made the Top 50 this year.
The theme for this year’s Ubud Food Festival is ‘every flavour is a story’, celebrating Indonesia’s culinary heritage, so what better time to raise a glass to our local Locavore legends?!
Cheers!
