Every year when Ramadan begins, Muslims fast and fill their days with prayer, reflection and also food. Good thing the food part is not exclusive! The crowds will flock to Geylang Serai for the annual Ramadan Bazaar that will see exotic and strange food (edible helium balloons, rainbow everything, eating and drinking from buckets) as well as well-loved Malay classics like Ramly burgers and keropok lekor (fish crackers). Art school not so confidential
If you love your art fresh, the annual LASALLE show begins in April with productions from its Faculty of Performing Arts featuring freshly commissioned works that are executed in close collaboration with veterans of the industry. On board with the College this season are prominent playwright Alfian Sa’at, legendary French choreographers, Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet, as well as the presentation of “Urinetown”, a revolutionary Broadway hit which is also one of this year’s highlights. Performance art not your thing? There’s the graduating students exhibitions going on, covering fields from fashion and design to music and fine arts. Take your pick!

Wordsmiths, here’s one for you. WORD. is an art show of writing where you can check out works from 25 artists all over the world commemorating written scripts like Arabic, Braille and Urdu through mediums and styles such as typography, calligraffiti and freestyle. In true Kult style, you can also see writing not just on standard canvases, but also in various digital forms such as animations and augmented reality.
