Smash Street offers Singapore’s newest smash burgers, indulgent fries, and a secret speakeasy. We went early – here’s our full sneak peek review.
Surely you’d know Smash Street by now. Scarpetta’s sister concept is launching on 3 April 2026 with a big bang! We’re talking 1,000 free burgers over two days – all you’ve gotta do is show up, get in line, and manifest those baddies straight into your hands. We swung by a few days before the official opening for a sneak peek. And the question is: did this new burger bar smash it out of the park, or did it fumble the smash?

Small space, big personality

Amoy Street’s newest resident is located a few doors down from its older sibling, and besides sharing the same street, the two dining destinations could’ve been designed by the same team. Smash Street’s interior seemed eerily familiar: curved lines, wooden accents, fifty shades of off-white, and hardly any breathing room to properly enjoy the food.
Is the tight space intentional? Yes. Just like its predecessor, this new spot is intended for walk-ins and takeaways only. While there are enough seats to accommodate 14 hungry diners, we reckon it’s better if you grab your burgers and have them elsewhere.

That said, there are a couple of design elements that I absolutely liked. The green awning out front is a nice pop of colour, like a friendly wave beckoning you closer. As you enter, pay attention to the floor – the embossed Smash Street sign lends a too-cool-for-school touch to the burger bar. You can try to snap pics here, but good luck fending off the potentially judgmental looks from others in the queue.
A tight menu that means business

If you think Scarpetta’s menu is lean, wait till you get a load of Smash Street’s. Here, you’re choosing between just two burgers, three sides, and two sweet treats. Decision fatigue is definitely not welcomed in this house!
In true big back fashion, my colleague and I ordered the Classic ($14, two patties) with extra bacon ($3) and the House ($17, three patties) with jalapeno and onion relish ($2). And unsurprisingly, we were evenly split on our favourite. My colleague preferred the classic burger as she felt it was the “right portion size”, especially after adding the bacon. “It adds a nice saltiness to the burger,” she noted.

My pick was the house burger, largely because of the three patties. (What can I say? I’m a growing boy…) The patties are thin enough not to overwhelm, with those gloriously crispy edges giving way to a tender, juicy middle. My colleague begged to differ. “Three patties are overkill,” she stated. Well, we can agree to disagree. The jalapenos and onion relish add a slightly spicy kick, which I always appreciate.
Both smash burgers feature soft potato buns, lending a little sweetness to each bite. Overall, they aren’t too greasy or fattening. Just the right amount of meatiness, with each bite hitting that sweet spot between crispy, juicy, and utterly craveable.
Sides that hold their own (mostly)

Our order came with a side of twice-fried fries ($6) and chicken poppers with chilli crunch aioli ($10). The fries are reminiscent of Jagabee potato sticks: crunchy, savoury, and oh-so-sinful. This is a no-brainer classic that plays well with the burgers.
While I thought the chilli crunch aioli was interesting – a combination of chilli oil and cold sauce – the chicken poppers suffered from too much paprika. Perhaps a lighter touch or a different seasoning altogether will balance out the dense flavour profile.

As someone with a sweet tooth, I was looking forward to Smash Street’s desserts. Sadly, the team is still refining the cereal-y delish-sounding creations, and they’ll only be available from opening day. I suppose a return visit is on the cards…
Plot twist: there’s a speakeasy upstairs

Smash Street also hides a naughty little secret. Turn right at the entrance and climb the flight of stairs, which leads to Blind Tiger, an upcoming new bar in Singapore. This vibey speakeasy is where you can wind down after burgers, a rough workday, or a chaotic hang with friends. It’s a dimly lit space awash in purple – if your eyesight isn’t up to scratch, please watch where you’re going! (Speaking from experience here…)

There are eight signature cocktails to choose from. My colleague went with the Petal & Proof (pear-infused vodka, elderflower and orange liqueur, rosemary, lemon, and syrup, price TBC). Meanwhile, I had The Indigo Signal (butterfly pea-infused gin, yuzu liqueur, honey, and lemon, price TBC). We enjoyed the citrus-forward concoctions, with hints of floral notes coming through after every sip.
Warning: the drinks are deceptively delicious, so you won’t realise your head is swirling after you’re done. Drink slowly! (P.S. Blind Tiger will open at a later date. Stay tuned for that announcement.)
Is Smash Street a smash hit?

And now, we’ve come to the most important question: is Smash Street out for blood, vying for the best burger spot in Singapore? Truthfully, it remains to be seen. With such a lean menu, there’s only so much to work with – but that’s likely part of the strategy. A focus on quality over quantity, if you will.
Given Scarpetta’s track record, expect long queues when it officially opens. If you’re the impatient type, go early and join the hype train. Otherwise, give it a few weeks to settle. The burgers are solid, the concept is focused, and while it may not be a game-changer just yet, it’s a promising new player that’s worth a visit, especially when the crowds thin out.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does Smash Street officially open?
The doors open on Friday, 3 April 2026.
What is a "smash burger"?
Unlike thick gourmet patties, these are balls of beef smashed flat onto a screaming-hot griddle. This creates crispy, lace-like caramelised edges while keeping the centre juicy. The team reportedly went through over 30 recipe iterations to get the beef-to-fat ratio perfect.
Is there a bar component?
The ground floor is purely the burger bar, but the team has plans to open a hidden bar called Blind Tiger on the second floor later this year.
Can I make a reservation?
No. Just like Scarpetta, Smash Street is strictly walk-in only.
What’s the seating like?
It is a very intimate space with only 14 counter seats and an open kitchen concept. Most diners are expected to order for takeaway or grab-and-go.
Is it halal-certified?
Smash Street isn’t halal-certified as it may use alcohol in some ingredients or sauces.
