The Herb Farm
The Herb Farm truly lives up to its name – many of its fresh ingredients are grown at founder Lynn Kirkland’s farm in New Zealand. Products are all made on site, with pure herbal extracts, plant derived, and 100% natural ingredients. We can’t go a day without morning spritzes of the Rejuvenating Facial Toning Mist; it awakens skin, refreshes makeup and minimises the appearance of pores.
The Herb Farm is available at selected Watsons stores.
Inspired by trips to the Himalayan mountains, Rough Beauty offers handmade botanical soaps made with quality natural ingredients – think plant essential oils, as well as herbs and spices for natural scents and colouring. We love the Mint Rose; it gives skin an exfoliating treat with its blend of floral, herbs and citrus essential oils with adzuki bean powder and dried herbs. The brand takes eco-friendly practices seriously; one of its new initiatives is for all of its products to soon go package-free.

Despite using “organic” or “natural” labels, many supposedly skin-friendly products contain synthetic chemicals. So it’s a wonderful discovery that Allerganics is dedicated to thorough research of all of its products’ ingredients before bringing them in for sale. Aside from 100% Pure, the brand also stocks Zosimos Botanicals (creamy eyeshadow sticks galore!) and enkido’s revitalising products for sensitive skin.

It’s nice to know that founder of Charis (pronounced Care-iss) Naturals, Michelle, is on our team when it comes to the battle for good skin. Faced with eczema problems as a teen, she’s done intensive research and studying of the dos and don’ts of organic products. She’s also a huge fan of the store’s Kahina products, a brand based on the wonders of Argan Oil (also known as Moroccan liquid gold). And we’d have to agree, just a few drops of the 100% Argan Oil onto our dry, frizzy hair and poof! Magically smooth hair the next morning.

Created out of a mother’s love for her son, Balm Kitchen was literally made in the kitchen, where founder Teresa Foo spent days on end experimenting with formulations. Her then three-year-old son had atopic dermatitis, and she needed a more natural replacement for his steroid creams. The botanical-based, cruelty-free skincare brand incorporates ingredients native to Asia like green tea extracts, gac fruit oil and perilla seed oil. For a more natural approach to combating the ravaging effects of urban life, the brand recently released an Anti-Pollution Capsule collection, which contains a cleansing water, balm and mask, scrub, essence and facial oil serum.
