After a few months without our beloved cult cinema, Filmhouse steps into The Projector’s iconic home in Singapore with fresh energy… and some smart upgrades.
Filmhouse, a brand new independent cinema in Singapore, opened its doors on 3 February 2026 at Golden Mile Tower, five months after The Projector’s sudden closure. That’s right, cinephiles, you can breathe easy again! Arthouse cinema is officially back, bringing curated foreign, classic, and cult films to the city.
Filmhouse’s refurbishments and creative upgrades

The cinema has undergone major upgrades to elevate both space and experience. First up: the foyer has been redesigned by furniture designer Nathan Yong, introducing a fresh colour palette, new furnishings, and a more intimate atmosphere. Local artist Speak Cryptic will revive his murals and add more at a dedicated space within Filmhouse, while homegrown creative studio Knuckles & Notch is contributing to retail and merchandising concepts.
Projection and audio systems have also been upgraded for your viewing pleasure! The Green Room now features a 4K xenon lamp projector, while the Redrum and Blue Room retain their 2K laser projectors. Audio enhancements blend modern clarity with vintage charm, including MAG speakers alongside a 50-year-old Altec-Lansing amplifier.
The return of the bar… sort of

Filmhouse’s Trailer Bar transforms the snack bar after screenings into a drinks and social hub, run by Ritz and Rush Ang, Enclave Bar’s former core team. Offerings include house pours, craft beers, themed cocktails, natural wines, and experimental seasonal popcorn flavours, alongside classic cinema popcorn.
Trailer Bar also hosts live music, community events, and creative sessions, including Warrior’s Jam and Singing Social Club, merging cinema with Singapore’s arts scene. Think of this as a spiritual continuation of The Projector’s Intermission Bar.
