From minimalist chic decor to quirky little knick knacks, these are the Instagram accounts we keep going back to for interior design inspiration in Singapore.
Whether you’re a new homeowner looking for renovation ideas or just someone that lives for the #aesthetic, we love a good HDB glow up. You’ve probably caught yourself looking at picture-perfect living rooms and kitchens. And why wouldn’t you? These spaces are what dreams are made of, and we can only fantasise about what it’d be like to live in them. Here’s a list of our favourite Instagram accounts started by homeowners and designers for interior design inspiration in Singapore.
Instagram accounts to follow for interior design tips in Singapore
1. Lemonfridge Studio
If minimalist homes and off-whites are the names of the game, Lemonfridge Studio has got it down. The studio is dedicated to ensuring that every corner of your home is as functional as it is Instagrammable. Plus, the team handles landed and commercial glow ups in its second Instagram account @lemonfridge.lifestyle. So you know the studio’s got experience up the wazoo. Whether it’s an HDB, hair salon, or restaurant, the designers have ideas for days.
2. Foong Family Flat
The unique thing about Wes and Ange’s home (aka @Foongfamilyflat) is that they didn’t hire an interior designer to zhuzh up their place. And as you can see, the outcome is a chic home with dark wood and tons of light. The duo opted to go for little to no carpentry in their home to save on cost, and each piece of movable furniture seamlessly fits into the aesthetics of their space. We think the best part is the fact that they share the realities of what happens after you get your dream home. They talk about the hits and misses of their renovation choices and share what it’s like living together.
3. Of the Box
When we say this team has range, we mean they have range. From light woods accenting white walls and carpentry to monochromatic themes featuring black and grey everything. Of The Box has probably done it all. We even came across a Squid Game-themed bathroom in one of the posts (see if you can spot it while scrolling). We’re living for the creative pops of colour and retro checkered tiles in some of the flooring.
4. Home Space
Plants, plants, plants. We aren’t talking about the little succulents that sit on your desk or the small planter that takes up a bit of real estate on your window. No, we’re talkin’ snaking philodendron golden dragons and thriving hoya kerrii splashes. Sha and Jim’s HDB now thrives with dozens of plant children taking up different corners of their home. Once in a while, they’ll drop some tips on how to care for your home plants and the occasional food post. The duo are also big on upcycling, and you can see them repurposing broken lamps and unused silicon mats.
5. Brickwood Studio
https://www.instagram.com/p/CfytBU4PbnI/
The bathroom in any home is just as important as the living space or bedroom. Some of us spend most of our time unwinding with long showers and skincare routines. It deserves just as much beautifying as the rest of the house. Brickwood Studio is just the team to put that together for you. Bathrooms with terrazzo tiles? Check. Mirrors in fun shapes? Check. Put a statement piece in your bathroom with a colourful oriental basin instead of a boring white one.
6. Home Farfalla
When we think about a luxe home, we think of Home Farfalla. Just looking at their bedroom makes us wonder if it’s out of a hotel! The well-placed wall decor and paintings turn every corner of the house into an Insta-worthy backdrop. Most of their home takes on white and light wood colours which brightens up the space. But there are fun bits added in like a fully terrazzo tiled bathroom and marbled kitchen backsplashes.
7. Hup Kiong
Once a renovation company, Hup Kiong pivoted into supplying building materials. And it’s a good thing it did because it supplies the gorgeous tiles you’re seeing on these Instagram posts. It’s a little hard to tell what a small tile sample is going to look like in your space, but that’s what Hup Kiong’s Instagram account is for. Click into any one of the posts and you’ll be admiring beautiful spaces and getting the exact tile code if you love it enough to use it. Get colourful kit kat mosaics, Italian marble, or tiles with a woodgrain finish.
8. Jingwens at Home
The Jingwens (Tiffany and Bryan) have started sharing snippets of their first home via their Instagram account. Throughout their posts, they also share bits of their renovation journey, both the good and bad. There’s even a dedicated room for their four cats (yes, four!). See something you like in one of their posts? Check out the “reno FAQ” highlight on the profile where they list key items that people have asked.
9. Alexis Interior
Alexis Interior creates spaces for clients, whether they know exactly what they want or just have a vague idea of what they want it to be. Almost every post on the Instagram account screams luxe. From HDB resale flats to commercial property, you’ll find an array of projects that it’s done for homes, offices, and retail spaces.
10. Ahi Rise Cottage
Full of lo-fi rustic charm, you’ll be immediately soothed by the little snippets of this space captured and curated by S and K. Catch their adorable Holland Lop bunny Lune lounging around in their stories. S and K steer away from modern and clean-cut decor and opt for perfect imperfections. For example, their kitchen backsplash has charmingly mismatched glazed green tiles.
11. GB Interior
As much as we love minimalist looks and sleek modern-day aesthetics, you gotta remember that a home should be cosy. It’s the space you use to unwind and get away from the chaos of everyday life. GB Interior features homes with warm woods and tons of natural light. Plus, there are some before and after posts so you can see just how much work was put into the space. We’re living for this built-in bookshelf and arched walkway.
Bonus: Interior design TikTok accounts we couldn’t ignore
Enrui T
@enrui_t My “colleagues” 🐟🐠🐡
The large open-concept home is a self-conceptualised labour of love done by Rui. His home features a monochromatic colour scheme and has minimal decor. The living room sports plush couches and huge windows that lead out to a spacious outdoor area. But the highlight is definitely the water feature in the driveway. The huge aquarium with custom fibreglass houses a silver alligator fish and stingrays, making it quite a statement piece.
Josh and Matt Design
@joshandmattdesign Where you sitting? #apartment #interior
This isn’t a local account, but we had to give these guys a shoutout. The home of this creative duo living in Melbourne is filled with unique pieces that they either thrift or create. If you’re looking to stray away from the typical minimalist experience, get some tips from them! Josh and Matt‘s maximalist concept means colourful furniture that could be mistaken for works of art. The apartment walls are covered in paintings and their lighting game is unmatched – see how many lamps you can spot in a single video. You can shop for their line of homeware which features whacky designs that’ll be a talking point in your home.
