The name doesn’t lie: Fluff Bakery’s confections are delightfully fluffy and sinfully delicious to boot. And many will agree: these bad boys are so popular, they sell out as soon as they hit the shelves. Get in quick to nab some of Fluff’s most original flavours – you can’t go wrong with the luscious Nutella Red Velvet as well other locally-inspired ones like teh tarik, triple Milo, bandung, and ondeh ondeh. Top tip: check out Fluff’s Instagram page first before heading over to find out flavours of the week and cupcake availability. Oh, and it’s Halal-certified too.
Fluff Bakery, 4 Jalan Pisang, Singapore 199071, e. firstname.lastname@example.org. Open Tues-Sat, 12pm-7.30pm.
Don’t let its name fool you: the cupcakes at Plain Vanilla are far from plain… or vanilla, for that matter. They may pared down and made with simple home-style baking, but every cupcake packs a punch while remaining light and fluffy. Delectable flavours definitely worth trying include the classic red velvet and cinnamon brown sugar. But without a doubt, our top pick goes to the beautifully perfumed earl grey lavender.
Plain Vanilla Bakery, 3 locations including Tiong Bahru & ION Orchard.
The Marmalade Pantry
Well known for their hearty brunch fare, The Marmalade Pantry’s (not so) well-kept secret is that they also churn out decadent cupcakes too. Offering a range of sweet treats from Limonata to Granny’s Apple to Elvis (that’s chocolate banana meets peanut butter), it’s hard to resist these fresh bakes. Fans of frosting may find the icing a little on the thin side but hey, we’re not complaining.
The Marmalade Pantry, 3 locations at ION Orchard, Oasia Novena Singapore Hotel and Oasia Downtown Singapore Hotel
Swirls Bake Shop
An all-American gourmet cupcake bakery right in Singapore? We love it already. Delivering American-style cupcakes with a homemade edge, Swirls is a must-visit if you love your cakes fresh, dense, and moist with a saccharine sweet frosting. We especially love that they come in three different sizes: bite-sized, regular, and colossal.

Little House of Dreams
The inspiration for Little House of Dreams? New York’s famed Magnolia Bakery. ‘Nuff said! An absolute winner in the design stakes, the cupcakes from this joint are almost too pretty to eat – think delicately frosted whimsical designs in pastel hues. If you’re looking for the perfect sweet treat for your next fete, be sure to hit these guys up. Little House of Dreams also does fully-customised cupcakes according to any party theme.

Cupcakes with Love
Ditch the sweet stuff and embrace the healthier bakes from Cupcakes with Love. Their aim is to use less sugar without scrimping on flavour; their cupcakes hit the mark perfectly with the perfect balance of rich yet satisfying goodness. We’re particularly fond of their Matcha Marvel, a green tea creation that’s iced with light-as-air cream cheese frosting.
Cupcakes with Love, 3 locations including Tampines 1 & Clementi Mall.
