The Rosebud Vajuvenation at Strip is a non-invasive treatment that lifts and firms the skin around your vulva. I tried it for the first time and spill all the deets.
Facials, massages and waxing… We do many things to groom ourselves and maintain our looks. So it goes without saying that we should give our vulva a little TLC too. Especially if Brazilian and IPL sessions are part of your routine. Who better to do it than the Spa Esprit Group? That’s right, the beauty company that has been keeping the conversation about vulva care alive with intimate skincare brand Two Lips and OG hair removal salon Strip. Say hello to a self-care ritual for your lady bits: Rosebud Vajuvenation.
Rosebud Vajuvenation review: A face lift for your vulva
The Rosebud Vajuvenation at Strip is a non-invasive face lift for your vulva that lifts and firms. Just like the skin on the rest of our body, the skin on our vulva slows down in collagen and elastin production as we age. Throw in childbirth, menopause and even donning tight activewear, and it may lead to dryness, discomfort, and irritation on your vulva.
This 30-minute session uses Thermal O2 technology that combines radio frequency, gentle suction and heat to promote new collagen and elastin production and enhance blood and lymphatic circulation, cell metabolism and tissue detoxification. The result? A lifted and firmer intimate area with a plump and rosy appearance – hence its name.
The experience: Not as awkward as I imagined it to be
I volunteered to try out this treatment myself. I’m a less-is-more type of person when it comes to self-care down under but I’d never miss an opportunity to try something intriguing (goop, please sponsor me!).
So there I was, lying down with my legs spread apart, acting like all this was normal. And it totally is, but for someone who hasn’t done a Brazilian before, I did pretty okay by not panicking. Luckily, my therapist wasn’t chatty and got straight to the treatment. She gave me a Two Lips wipe to clean myself up and checked to see if my hairs were short enough for the treatment. It’s best to go post-hair removal but if you have short hairs, they’ll shave it for you.
She first applied a cool cream over the targeted area and then the Thermal O2 applicator did its job. I experienced a vacuum suction and a slight warm sensation that was quite relaxing. The device causes collagen fibres to contract for an immediate tightening and lifting effect. It also accelerates a natural repairing agent called the fibroblast growth factor. This enters the deeper dermis layer for a long-term firming effect.
After a good 10 minutes, my therapist was done with one side and used a mirror to show the difference. To my surprise, I noticed a slight lift. Imagine what a few sessions could do! After a second round on the other side, the facial ended with a cooling hydrating mask to soothe the area. It was so comfy, that I nodded off for a bit. The awkward me in the beginning was sad it ended so soon.
Final thoughts: A great form of self-care for your vulva
I’m glad Strip introduced this vulva facial for anyone who needs a little lifting and firming on the Brazilian area. You can choose to try it out of curiosity, as a form of self-care or simply just to look after your lady bits. But as much as I enjoyed the novelty of the treatment, I might just stick to a facial on my face for now and perhaps revisit this after giving birth.
