The newest kid on the block is Straits Clan, which is set to take over the former New Majestic Hotel in March 2018. The aim here is to replicate the clan-style relationships rooted in Singapore’s early history, by creating a supportive space for today’s movers and shakers. Befitting its magnificent, old-world space, the four-storey club will be an opulent home away from home. On the first floor, you’ll find an all-day tea room and bar serving Eastern brews and healthy bowls, with a members’ dining room located here. Head up to the second floor’s main restaurant to be transported to an age of classic cocktails or to the breezy courtyard for fresh air and and food within elegant surrounds. Leisure awaits in the entertainment room (with an arcade, mini disco, karaoke rooms), while wellness, in the form of a gym and spa, is found on the third storey. Work-wise, you’re free to squeeze in a meeting or two in the co-working space, or meet fellow members in the gorgeous attic space.
