Rest assured you’ll be the (silver) belle of the ball after donning these stunning festive makeup looks. We've got your pout, peepers and highlight covered.
We’ve FINALLY entered the season where a shimmer and glitter overload doesn’t get you the side-eye. Yes, we love our Christmas shopping, bottomless buffets and log cakes but nothing gets us merrier than experimenting with winter wonderland-worthy makeup looks. But wait, too much of anything and you might look like a mermaid threw up on you.
To get you out of your style rut, we invited makeup pro Sneha Naidu to show us how it’s done. Sneha – who’s absolutely gorgeous by the way – is a freelance makeup artist who’s been in the scene for eight years, creating looks for both international and local media. Her mantra: “festive makeup shouldn’t have any boundaries. As long as you think it looks good and makes you feel festive, go for it!” Scroll down to see the looks we’ll be trying this party season.
Luscious red glitter and fuchsia fun lips

Nothing screams “ready to party” than a red lip. Wanna take it to the next level? Add a touch of glitter for a fresh and youthful look. Sneha uses Nyx Professional Makeup’s Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in ‘Kitten Heels’ and Becca’s Volcano Goddess Glow Gloss in ‘Ruby Fire’ for a shimmery sheen. The iridescent gold and pink pearls in this limited-edition crimson shade shine bright like a diamond. This lip look is more wearable and oozes festive spirit.

Red lip too basic for you? Have a go at fuchsia pink (pictured above, right). Bold and completely versatile on every skin colour, fuchsia sits perfectly between your usual red and a hard-to-match bright pink. Sneha uses a mix of Nyx Professional Makeup’s Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in ‘Subversive Socialite’ and ‘Pink Lust’ to attain a rockin’ shade. Equal parts moisturising and oh-so-pigmented, this lip cream glides on like butter for an all-around moisturised look.
Highlight on fleek

Rushed for time? Sneha suggests donning a quick highlight if you don’t have Kim K’s contouring skills. It’s simple but makes a hell of a lot of difference by adding some dimension to your face. No highlighter? Just glide some shimmery eyeshadow diagonally on the cheekbone and you’ve got yourselves a smokin’ glow up. Sneha uses Juvia’s Place The Masquerade Palette in ‘Giza’ (you can purchase the palette on Shopee) to make the face pop.
For a base that’ll last through the night, Sneha starts with a hydrating and moisturising primer from local brand The Sceptr Primer Cosmetics also stops your makeup from oxidising. Sweet! This cosmetic line by renowned makeup artist Samina Malik will be launching real soon so watch this space!
Tropical-esque peepers

Who says a festive look is all about the smokey eye? Step up your eyeshadow game with a mix of gold and purple to look like a glammed up tropical bird. We are celebrating Christmas in the tropics after all. Sneha’s whipped these peepers into shape by blending the ‘Ada’ and ‘Fulani’ shades from Juvia’s Place The Masquerade Palette on the crease. Next, she dabs the richly pigmented ‘Portraiture’ shade from Zoeva’s Eclectic Eyes Eyeshadow Palette on the eyelid. Finally, she uses Becca’s Volcano Goddess Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Glided’ for the inner corners and ‘Cloud’ for the brow bone. And not only does this palette look frame-worthy, but the colours also deliver an intense payoff. Finally, frame the eyes with Nyx Professional Makeup’s Matte Liquid Liner.
