What is Paran Label?

Launched in 2025, Paran Label is named after the Korean word “paran”, which means blue – and if it isn’t obvious enough, the colour is splashed all over the brand’s logo. Healthy living is the name of the game; Paran’s offerings are thus made with lower sugar, higher protein, and dietary fibre. Some of them even come with added probiotics and collagen.
Paran’s Singapore debut spans four categories: bread loaves, sandwiches, salads, and cakes. As of now, diners can get them at Paris Baguette’s outlet at Paragon before they’re rolled out islandwide, likely in May.
All about the bready good vibes

First to hit my table was the Paran signature bread platter ($12.50), featuring rustic multiseed bread, multigrain rye bread, and oat softness bread. They’re accompanied by confit garlic yoghurt, roasted cherry tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil with balsamic vinegar. It’s a pretty substantial serving, given the price.
Out of the three breads ($6.90 each), I prefer the oat. It’s light and easy on the palate, while its subtle sweetness pairs well with the yoghurt. The rustic multiseed bread is chewier and goes hand in hand with the extra virgin olive oil. I’m not a fan of the multigrain rye bread as it’s a little too coarse and hardy for my liking, but I do appreciate its nutty flavour.

If you want something with more bite, I recommend getting the smoked salmon ricotta sandwich ($12.50). The silky fish and creamy ricotta spread are a match made in heaven. Purple onions add a hint of spiciness, while the multigrain rye lends texture overall. Perfect for sharing or eating solo.
Light bites and sweet endings

With the breads out of the way, how did the other Paran Label products fare? Let’s start with my next favourite: the strawberry salad yoghurt ($16.50), an excellent choice if you’re looking for a light breakfast. There’s a variety of flavours here, though tanginess dominates, thanks to the lemon vinaigrette and strawberry balsamic dressing. The fresh strawberries are sweet and complement both the dressing and cream cheese yoghurt.
Any savoury options? Well, the chipotle prawn toast ($23) is a solid selection. The prawns are plump and deliciously spiced, while the scrambled eggs are soft and creamy. I also sampled the chipotle truffle egg citrus prawn salad ($16.50) – a commendable dish, but I thought it had a tad too much truffle, which coated the avocado slices. Scaling down the oil or separating the avocados would’ve been a nicer touch.

Dessert-wise, I was spoiled for choice. My favourite is the strawberry Greek yoghurt cake – refreshing, bright, and not too sweet. I could’ve wiped the entire cup clean! The slightly tangy mango coco gives off tropical vibes, which is very fitting for Singapore. Those who don’t mind richer flavours can order the blueberry dark choco cake. Don’t worry, it’s not too cloying. You can finish it off yourself.
Is Paran Label a bite or a pass?

If I hadn’t been informed that Paran Label is an extension of the Paris Baguette brand, I wouldn’t have clocked it. The two jive seamlessly into one another, like two complementary shades on the colour wheel spinning around the breakfast table. Would Paran have worked better as a standalone concept? Possibly. But as a menu extension, it does slip quite naturally into Paris Baguette’s existing line-up.
The Health Promotion Board-esque intention didn’t quite win me over, though. While the menu leans heavily into lower sugar, higher protein, and functional ingredients, the experience still feels closer to a regular cafe in Singapore than a true healthy eating destination. That said, health-conscious diners will likely appreciate the lighter flavour profiles and yoghurt-forward desserts. Fitspo folks, this one’s calling out to you!
As for me, Paran Label is a pleasant addition to the menu… just not my first port of call when I’m actively seeking out healthier fare.
