The origins of the China bubble tea brand
The name “Molly” is a wordplay on “Mo Li”, which means jasmine in Chinese. As the name suggests, Molly Tea specialises in jasmine green tea-based drinks. The brand explores floral and fruity tea aromas around the world, leading the way for Chinese floral tea innovation to craft modern interpretations of Eastern tea.
The brand has garnered a global cult following for its aesthetic store designs and signature floral tea concepts, with over 2000 outlets worldwide across China, the US, the UK, Australia and Southeast Asia. The 1400 sq ft Orchard Central outlet will serve as its flagship store in Singapore.
P.S. I walked past this afternoon and the crowd was already insane!
First impressions: You’re greeted by Molly’s mascot

If you frequent the Orchard area, you would have noticed the hoarding board of Molly Tea a few months ago, taking over the space previously known as Equate Coffee. Before you step in, you’ll be greeted by the cutest Molly’s iconic mascot in a Merlion costume, a Singapore exclusive.
It’s a must to snap a picture with the mascot, especially if you’re bringing the little ones. Although it’s an open concept, the huge space feels cosy with soft lighting and multiple seats available.
Signature drinks: Hits and misses

From now to 8 March 2026, only the top six signature drinks from Molly Tea will be available on the menu. Enjoy the premium jasmine milk tea, premium jasmine apple milk tea, snowy jasmine, pistachio jasmine coconut, white champaca oolong milk tea and white champaca matcha.

I kicked things off with the premium jasmine milk tea ($5.20) at 30% sugar, less ice. The jasmine aroma was definitely there, but I found the flavour a little diluted, overpowered by the milk. If you like it sweet, I’d recommend 50% sugar. Or get 0% to really enjoy the tea notes paired with fresh milk. As a start, it’s not quite on par with the one I had in China.
Next up, the snowy jasmine ($6.50). It’s built on the same premium jasmine milk tea base but topped with jasmine whipped cream and pecans. I went for less ice and 0% sugar. The whipped cream added the perfect layer of sweetness without being too overpowering. Honestly, I’d recommend this over the plain premium jasmine milk tea.

These two drinks (pictured above) are literally my favourite combos and I was so excited to try them! The white champaca matcha ($5.90) comes with matcha cheese foam on top, paired with champaca green tea and a fresh milk base. This was with less ice and 30% sugar. The matcha cheese foam was creamy and earthy, pairing beautifully with the lightly floral, sweet notes of the champaca milk tea.
Fun fact: champaca, also known as champak, gives off a strong, sweet citrusy scent. It’s subtle here, but it complements the green tea nicely. Definitely a unique first-time experience.
The pistachio jasmine coconut ($6.20) is a mix of jasmine green tea and coconut water, topped with a rich, nutty pistachio cheese foam. I had this with 0% sugar. The pistachio flavour was bold, though the coconut and jasmine base felt really separated even after mixing. Still, it’s worth trying if you like pistachio and coconut – this one’s a refreshing drink.

Moving on, I tried the jasmine apple milk tea ($5.90) with 0% sugar and less ice. This felt the “healthiest” of the bunch, and the apple juice really came through. Keeping that in mind, drinking apple juice with fresh milk felt a little unusual to me. I’d say skip this unless you’re watching your calories or trying to keep it light.
Ending my Molly Tea journey with a bang was the white champaca oolong milk tea ($5.20) with 0% sugar. This was a total winner for me – the oolong was bold and fragrant, enhanced by the subtle floral notes of the white champaca. If you’re an oolong fan, this won’t disappoint.
Overall, my top favourites were definitely the white champaca matcha and white champaca oolong milk tea. But honestly, these six signature drinks are the reason Molly Tea is making waves. Each one has its own unique twist and is worth a try if it piques your interest.
