From splendid installations in malls across town, to seasonal staycation packages, Hong Kong goes full razzle-dazzle mode every year – and 2024 is no different! These events, displays, and Christmas lights in Hong Kong will definitely get you in the mood.

1. Pacific Place: ChristmasVille

Count on Pacific Place for a whimsical Christmas as furry monsters await you at ChristmasVille! From 15 November to 2 January, Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct will be transformed into the cosy, beautifully decorated homes of gentle giants and cuddly critters. After making your rounds at the interactive installations, visit Santa Claus in Santa’s Grotto and get hands-on at the creative workshops. Sign up online to craft your own yarn totes, customised monster keychains, and fuzzy monster wreaths at the enchanted Christmas village. All proceeds from workshop tickets go towards Operation Santa Claus, so that you can share the love and joy with those in need this Christmas and beyond.

2. Festival Walk: Hangyodon x Hong Kong Winter Fun Fest

Fans of the adorable Sanrio character Hangyodon will love Festival Walk’s festive display. From now until 1 January, the mall’s atrium is transformed into a stunning winter wonderland complete with character-themed torii, chairlift, snowman, and more! The centrepiece is an eye-catching five-metre-tall Hangyodon Snow Mountain, accompanied by a pop-up store selling a range of limited-edition merch. Various restaurants in the mall are also adding to the festive cheer with Hangyodon-themed dishes.

3. HKJC x Tai Kwun: Simple Gifts of Joy 2024

As you begin to feel a nip in the air, journey over to Tai Kwun to delight in the annual festivities of Simple Gifts of Joy. Watch as the 12-metre-tall Christmas tree flickers to life as the sun sets. For a grander spectacle, “Tai Kwun Circus Plays: A Whirl of Fun and Wonder” showcases the most spectacular artists from around the world. From headlining acts like Playbook by Gravity and Other Myths (from Australia) and Exit by Circumstances (from Belgium), to the new Asian Circus Focus, prepare to be awed and delighted when you visit Tai Kwun this Christmas!

4. Lee Tung Avenue: Dazzling Christmas Masquerade Ball

This holiday season, Lee Tung Avenue transforms into a glistening wonderland filled with festive cheer. At the centre of the iconic path is a giant Christmas tree that comes alive with twinkling lights every evening. In addition, you can experience a white Christmas every Friday to Sunday and on public holidays with the avenue’s “Let It Snow” artificial snow show! On Christmas Day, come dressed in your festive best for the Masquerade Ball complete with a line-up of dance, music, and magic performances.

5. IFC Mall: Santa’s Magic Toy Factory

Get on Santa’s “nice list” this Christmas by becoming one of his wonderful elf helpers at Santa’s Magic Toy Factory in IFC Mall! From 21 November to 1 January, Father Christmas needs your assistance in preparing his special surprises. The factory features eight photo spots; make your way through the different departments while manoeuvring interactive mechanical and digital installations. To spread the joy of giving this Christmas, you can make a donation at the Inspection Department. Also, secure your spot via Klook (reservations open on 22 November) for the “Santa Meet & Greet” in Santa’s Office. All proceeds from these activities will be donated to the Hong Kong Committee for Unicef.

6. MCP x Teletubbies: Christmas Snowy Adventure

Calling all millennials: recall your fondest childhood memories as the Teletubbies invite you to their Christmas Dream Playground. From today until 1 January 2025, visitors of all ages will rejoice with five photo ops and three snowy play zones in MCP Central and MCP Discovery. The 7.5m-tall Inflatable Po will definitely catch your eye, but don’t forget to hop on the Dipsy Speedy Slide for a thrill, too.
After you catch the hourly Teletubbies Snow Show, be sure to enter the Christmas Card Design Contest and Teletubbies Thematic Postcard Redemption. All proceeds from these activities will be donated to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong, so this is your chance to get creative and make a difference this Christmas.

7. Cityplaza: Streets of Christmas Joy

Celebrate in style this festive season at Cityplaza’s “Streets of Christmas Joy.” Inspired by Hong Kong’s thriving art and music scene, the shopping mall is transformed with stunning graffiti-themed festive installations that inject street culture into mainstream holiday decorations. From now until 1 January, visitors can marvel at an 8-meter-tall Streetlight Christmas Tree, a Retro Sports Car movie scene, and vibrant festive graffiti. Get ready to see street dance and rap battles taking place alongside festive happenings!

8. Hong Kong Disneyland: A Disney Christmas

Share magical moments at Hong Kong Disneyland with the whole family! From 15 November to 1 January, the Happiest Place on Earth will be spreading Christmas spirit far and wide. Besides the classic “Disney Christmas Live in Concert” and “Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball”, you can look forward to a snowy Christmas in the World of Frozen for the first time ever. 9. The Whampoa: Jolly SantaMas

Join Rudolph and the gang this Christmas at The Whampoa! From now until 1 January, the mall invites visitors to become Santa Claus and join his fleet of trusty reindeer on their present delivery quest. Load up with presents at the Sleigh Refill Station before making your way to the Santazon Factory and Reindeer Terminal, where little ones can put their gift-hunting skills to the test. Once you’ve completed the challenge, little ones can hop on the Santa Jump inflatable slide for a bounce.

10. MOSTown x Sanrio: Most-Fluffy Winter Musical

Good news to all Sanrio fans! Get your cute fix at MOSTown from 9 November to 1 January with the “Most-Fluffy Winter Musical”, an immersive Christmas experience powered by the healing power of music. Three popular Sanrio characters – Pochacco, Pompompurin, and Little Twin Stars – will appear as musicians to lead you through six photo zones and two game zones.
Take a plunge down Pochacco Xmas Xylophone Slide and drum away on Pompompurin Xmas Pudding Percussion. You’ll also find the From Tuft to Tune exhibition at the 7m-tall Fluffy Music Box Xmas Tree, which showcases hand-tufted creations by Taiwanese artists, Eric and Hannah. Their beautiful tapestries will be put up for charity sale after Christmas to support Hong Kong Blind Union.
