For those months when you’re saving a little extra cash and need to find cheap fitness classes in Hong Kong, we’ve found a range of great ways to get your sweat on.
Sweat it out at these cheap fitness classes in Hong Kong
November Project
One of our favourite free outdoor fitness classes in Hong Kong, November Project offers two classes per week that will have you toned and trim in no time. On Wednesdays at 7am, get involved in the bootcamp that takes place at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park or join the Friday sessions that are more stair focussed and include circuit training too. This social fitness group is more than just a workout, it’s also a great place to meet new people.

Swimming at one of the 22 public pools in Hong Kong
If you’re looking for an UBER cheap way to stay fit in the city, then find your nearest public swimming pool, and dive in! There are 22 public pools throughout Hong Kong, and entry is only $17 (or $19 on weekends.) The facilities at these pools are surprisingly good, with lockers, showers and clean changing rooms. Plus, swimming burns around 400 calories for every 30-minute session, so you’ll be feeling fitter in no time.

HK Outdoor Yoga
HK Outdoor Yoga is led by a group of certified yoga teachers who are passionate about getting outdoors and sharing their knowledge. Take you mat, towel and water bottle along to Tamar Park, and enjoy a free yoga session, no matter what your level. One of the bonuses of participating here is that they put an emphasis on creating a friendly and non-intimidating vibe, so if you’ve ever thought about doing yoga but were a little shy, then this is a safe space to get involved.

Sunday Shred
If you’re looking for cheap fitness classes in Hong Kong that bring the sweat and the social elements, then Sunday Shred is for you. This community driven group offers HIIT-style workouts for all fitness levels on Sunday mornings at Tamar Park in Admiralty. Best of all, classes are just $150, with the ethos of “pay as you wish”, so you can pay in full, pay a bit, or not at all if you’re strapped for cash that week.

LCSD Fitness Rooms
Located across Hong Kong, government gyms are well-equipped and maintained. To use the gyms, you have to take a special class in which you’re instructed in correct use of the equipment, and from then on you can enjoy a monthly fee of just $180 that gives you access to all the government gyms across Hong Kong. It’s definitely one of the cheapest ways to stay shredded in the city.

Harbour Runners
Strap on your running shoes and pound the pavement with the OG Hong Kong running group, Harbour Runners. This community group meets up on Wednesday nights at changing locations across the city, and they’ll guide you along routes you may never have run before. The location is posted on IG and FB every Tuesday, and then all you need to do is show up and run.

One of the best things about living in Hong Kong is the easy-access that we have to nature and the great outdoors. One of the cheapest ways to stay fit in the city is to hit the many hiking trails across town. Start at your own pace, hike with friends, or join one of the many Meetup groups available.
