Foodie’s rejoice – there are even more new restaurants in Bali to get excited about! What pleasantly surprises most people when they come to Bali is the unbelievable food the island has to offer. With gourmet cuisines, international chefs, hip and trendy décor, and innovative fresh and healthy food on offer we would go as far to say that Bali has some of the best dining experiences in the world. And luckily for us there are new cafes and restaurants popping up all the time. From vegetarian haunts in Canggu to coffee fix hotspots in Ubud, here are some of the newest places in Bali to eat, drink and be merry.
Mofo Kitchen, Petitenget
Breakfast and brunch are two things in Bali that are huge, and newly opened Mofo Kitchen nourishes this ever growing appetite for great food to start the day. They draw inspiration from the Western classics and give them an Indonesian twist, like for example their delicious Crispy Parma Ham Benedict [a take on the classic Eggs Benedict]. And to top off this awesome dining experience in a beautiful designed cosy space, plus some of their chili sauces are available to purchase so you can enjoy the Mofo taste in the comfort of your own home!

Gypsy, Canggu
Located on the same road as Bali Fit, off Batu Bolong, Gypsy is the new place in town everyone is talking about. From the cleverly thought out food, the cool urban vibe, and the old school hip hop classics on the sound system, Gypsy is the new hipster hang out. Their menu offers ‘oooooh’ and ‘aaahhh’ dishes like tuna tataki [with fresh fish bought daily from Jimbaran market] and pork belly, and even more delicious cocktails like their watermelon gin fizz and done-to-perfection espresso martinis. Definitely a place for the hit list, I mean they serve warm corn soup over popcorn for goodness sake – it doesn’t get much cooler than that.

Folk Ubud, Ubud
Ubud is a food lover’s dream but with so many vegan, gluten and whatever else ‘free’ food type you can think of, we were pretty excited to hear about the new cafe opening up which celebrates everything to do with bread… YUM. Folk Ubud make their own sourdough bread so if you fancy a good hearty sandwich, this is the place to go!

The Shady Shack, Canggu
Shaded seating areas, tropical greenery, fresh white furniture, immaculately dressed staff and food that comes in every colour of the rainbow… this is The Shady Shack! If you are a vegetarian this is the place for you – grab a coconut or better yet, boost that immune system with a turmeric latte. And for hungry tummies, how can we choose? From the Nori bowl to the onsen eggs to the raw banoffee cheesecake, we want it all!

Jungle Bali, Umalas
What do we love about Jungle Bali? The cute little space. The jungle vibes. The palm tree coffee art. Oh, and the food! Open for breakfast and lunch they have all sorts on their ever evolving menu, including salmon burgers, poached eggs, breakie jars and lots more.

Taco Loco, Berawa
Aribbba! Head to Taco Loco for some out of this world Mexican delights, including the Mexican Pineapple – their version is stewed in cinnamon butter and coconut crusted, deep fried to perfection… to die for! If you love a taco, then this is the place for you. They are also open for breakfast, so pay them a visit for a tasty start to your day. Rosmarina, Canggu
Fans of Basilico in Seminyak will be pleased to hear that Canggu has its very own Zibiru outlet in the form of new Italian haunt, Rosmarina. This small and simple place is the perfect spot to unwind at after a long day in the sun. Enjoy a crisp glass of locally produced white wine whilst you gorge on tasty pastas, paninis and salads and or graze on simple foods like homemade bread, cheese and house cured cold cuts.

Batik, Seminyak
This new restaurant and bar in buzzing Seminyak offers delicious South East Asian food, including Vietnamese, Indonesian and Thai, plus what they claim as the best mojito on the island! The space is very cool, with high ceilings, Bali art adorning the walls and a fab array of cushions [who doesn’t love a good cushion!]. Wine lovers note – they even have a wine cellar!
