Beauty Products in Bali
Island goddesses are no myth. With these Balinese beauty brands packed full of natural goodness, you’ll be glowing like royalty in no time. So take home some head-to-toe spa decadence with this roundup of the best spa, beauty and wellbeing products available in Bali.
Sensatia Botanicals
Made in Bali with natural, organic products, Sensatia Botanicals’ products are deliciously good. What’s more, the company employs local people and uses products from suppliers in the surrounding area – got to get your coconuts and loofah sponges from somewhere, right? Basically, the more of these eco-friendly but body-decadent products we buy, the more good we’re doing in the world! We first discovered them at the spa at Sentosa in Seminyak and have since become a little bit addicted, especially to the tropical wildflower body butter.
Bathe
It was the antique claw foot bath filled with yellow rubber ducks that first drew us into Bathe’s chic apothecary-style beauty shop on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak. Living in the tropics, our skin takes a fair beating and we’ve been absolutely addicted to the sunscreen from day one. The kids adore the shampoos, conditioners, and bubbles, and the big fella is quite partial to the heavyweight body lotion. We can’t wait to check out the new goodies at the Bathe store that’s just opened on Batu Belig.
Como Shambhala
What more do you expect from Bali’s very finest purveyor of wellbeing goodness? How about an exclusive range of Como body care goodies and gift boxes just perfect for those back home in need of some tropical rejuvenation. Try their calm balms, zingy luxurious invigorating shampoos with cooling peppermint and refreshing eucalyptus and their sublime home fragrance collection just primed to transport you back to the hilly Como climes of Ubud. A real treat.
Utama Spice
With recipes developed using ancient Balinese medicinal knowledge, Utama Spice have an incredible range of all natural skincare products that do more than just make you smell and feel fantastic. The rose allure body butter and shower gels are worth tracking down, but their range of all natural clay facemask products are what set them apart. Try their blend of guava and jackfruit mask or the traditional Balinese detoxing Boreh body scrub. A snip at the price too.
Enfants Paradis
Perhaps the most contemporary and chic of our roundup, Enfants Paradis not only retails some really classy body care products but goes one extra step with its selection of silk kimonos, camisoles and beautifully understated monochrome travel range. The age defying organic serum gift box gets five youthful stars from us, as does the hydrating duo gift pack. This is travel beauty at its very best and a true homegrown Bali success that is now an internationally recognised healthcare brand.
Enfants du Paradis is a very chic Australian-owned label that was established in Bali a few years ago by designer and artist Kirsty Ludbrook. This organic and botanical beauty brand is free from nasty chemicals and isn’t tested on animals. It has a great range of products for face and body.
L’Occitane
The French know a thing or two when it comes to top shelf bodycare products and their ranges of fragrances, gels, shea butters and hair care treats are the stuff spa dreams are made of. Kupu Kupu Barong in Ubud has the official L’Occitane spa and that’s worth a visit for its beautiful treatments or therapies, but if you can’t make it up into the hills then the malls down south carry a wonderful selection of products. There’s even something in it for the guys. Indulge.
Alila
Bali resort Gods Alila are also pretty accomplished in the realm of spa products it turns out, with their Alila Living range of haircare, body scrubs, butters and exfoliates which many claim are hands down the best hotel-brand amenities on the market. We love them for their aloe and cucumber scrub and ginger and lemongrass shower gel, both almost good enough to eat! Try their mists for instant transportation back to tropical Bali, the perfect sensory gift for those that love feeling good about themselves. Available at Alila Hotels and Resorts properties or online.
Bathe
Getting back to basics in style but without the fuss is the mantra of Bali’s Bathe. They get in on our list for their devilishly cool store and for stocking, not only some fantastic handmade soaps, lotions and butters, but also for catering to the male of the species plus a range especially for kids. Their fragrance free shampoos and conditioners are the business as are their detox bath bubbles. Good honest bath products. Store on Batu Belig.
