And just because you’re on holiday in Bali, doesn’t mean you have an excuse not to achieve them! So, as your self-appointed accountability buddy, I’m sharing my tips on how to keep your new year’s resolutions in Bali. Happy New Year, Honeys!

New year’s resolutions 2026 – for a better year ahead
1. Exercise more
Stay active with workouts you love, from yoga and pilates to gyms and outdoor fitness routines.

The key is to find a workout that you love, and do NOT obsess over what the scale says. Bonus points if you can find a workout buddy who will keep you accountable! Lucky for us, we have quality gyms in Bali with wholesome communities and a wide range of fitness classes to choose from. Check out my picks here:
- The most well-equipped gyms in Bali
- Pilates studios in Bali offering reformer and mat classes
- My top yoga studios in Bali with serene vibes
2. Eat healthier
Nourish your body with balanced meals, fresh produce and healthy dining options that don’t skimp on flavour.

While we’re not exactly experts on this, it’s all about having a balanced diet and enough nutrition to get us through the day. We’re lucky enough to have access to local markets and supermarkets fully stocked with fresh produce to cook our own meals – the easiest way to keep track on what goes into our food. But fret not, because Bali is packed with countless restaurants serving up healthy dishes and farm-to-table menus, if you don’t feel like cooking!
3. Spend more time in the outdoors
Reconnect with nature through beach walks, mountain trails and outdoor adventures in fresh air.

Let’s be honest, we’re guilty of never leaving our desks and laptops. Not to mention our moody Bali weather which can be too wet or too hot to handle, and high humidity all year round. But, no complains here, since we’re also blessed with natural landscape (from the beautiful beaches to the breezy mountains) where fresh air comes with a view. Try doing fun outdoor activities in Bali’s nature, to give you yet another excuse to leave your AC-powered room.
4. Make new connections
Meet like-minded people through group activities, solo travel and shared wellness experiences.
If you’ve struggled with socialising, then this could be your year to meet new people and lifelong friends. And to make breaking the ice a little bit easier, join in on group activities, like taking a yoga class and learning to dive. Or even going on a solo trip or adventure, and staying in a hostel or a co-living space, where you’ll have the chance to meet fellow solo travellers. You can even go on multi-day surf, yoga and healing retreats in Bali.
5. Take up a new hobby
Learn new skills through cooking classes, creative workshops, sports or cultural experiences.

Make the most of your free time by indulging in a creative outlet. Whether its custom making jewellery, learning how to cook Indonesian food, surfing, or picking up a new sport like padeling. Not only will you gain a cool new skill, it’s also a good way to add a family bonding activity the kids will love, to your Bali vacay.
6. Find a way to unwind
Reduce stress with mindfulness, meditation, spa treatments and simple daily self-care rituals.

With work and personal life to balance, how can we ever find time to relax? The key is to get organised. You can start journaling to set your intentions, jotting down your daily tasks or setting up reminders on your phone to take a quick break. A short meditation can be easily done throughout the day. Simply close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to clear your mind. And once you find some time to unwind, here you have a few options to truly destress if you live in Bali:
- Bali’s best spas for massages, facials and more
- All-inclusive wellness resorts in Bali
- Top yoga, fitness and wellness retreats in Bali
7. Enrol in a yoga teacher training
Reduce stress with mindfulness, meditation, spa treatments and simple daily self-care rituals.

If you can’t get enough yoga in your life, then you might be ready for a YTT. Lucky you, because choices of yoga teacher training courses in Bali are endless! That means you can tie in your training with your island getaway.
