If you’re a fan of oysters, pay a visit to the fifth annual World Oyster Festival at Greenwood Fish Market, kicking off this weekend
It’s been said that “it was a brave man who first ate an oyster”. But for those privy to this oceanic bounty know that, much like wine, the countless varieties of oysters offer diners a myriad of different tastes. If you’re keen on diving into the world of fine oyster varietals, the World Oyster Festival 2017 is a fantastic place to start.
The event, held at Greenwood Fish Market, will feature a whopping selection of over 20 oyster varietals – flown in fresh from around the world. The selection includes ‘cult oysters’ like Tsarskaya No.3, Gillardeau, Belon “OOO”, Mary Point, and Golden Mantle – where else can you find all these treasures under one roof?
The event will kick off on 1 July and run throughout the month, and admission is completely free. So really, there’s no excuse not to grab your oyster-loving buddies and pay a visit to the seafood mavens at Greenwood Fish Market.
