Victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake need our help. Here’s where to donate resources from Singapore.
For those who have lost their homes, family members, and friends in the recent Turkey-Syria earthquake, ‘devastating’ is an understatement. Tens of thousands have been injured, and up to 34,000 people have died. We may not be able to help on-ground all the way from Singapore, but we can donate much-needed money, resources, and food. Check out this list of charities and organisations you can contribute to.
Where to donate to help Turkey-Syria earthquake relief efforts
1. Oxfam
Oxfam has partnered with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to put out an urgent appeal for monetary donations. All of it will go to supporting people affected by the Turkey and Syria earthquake. $50 will provide enough blankets to keep six people warm; $80 will ensure two families are fed for as long as 10 days; and $160 will put a roof over the heads of four families.

7. Businesses in Singapore
If you find yourself at a restaurant or small business that’s supporting the cause, it’s a good time to contribute as well. For example, from now till 4 March, Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery and Scotts Square will donate 50% of the proceeds from its ‘The Turkish’ breakfast to the Singapore Red Cross.
Let’s pool our efforts together to support those who have been affected by the Turkey and Syria earthquake.
