Aramsa The Garden Spa review: I spent an afternoon at this hidden spa and here’s what I loved.
Tucked away in the lush greenery of Bishan Park, Aramsa The Garden Spa is where urban stress fades away. Despite the name, it’s more like an integrated wellness space than a mere spa, with offerings that include yoga classes and a space for feel-good wellness events. That said, I’d say its rejuvenating spa treatments definitely take the cake. Don’t believe me? Read on for all the details of my afternoon at this blissful retreat.
First impressions: A lush wellness sanctuary
As I walked into Aramsa The Garden Spa, I was greeted by an oasis of tranquillity that felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city, despite being just a short drive from town. The spa is nestled within Bishan Park, hidden within lush foliage right by the gentle river.
The architecture and interior design beautifully brings nature in, with quaint gardens lining the path as from the lounge to the treatment areas. Beyond the spa, Yoga Seeds offers various types of yoga classes (including prenatal yoga). Classes are held in cosy air-conditioned spaces, featuring glass walls that offer a verdant view as you enjoy your asanas. There are also two event spaces designed for hosting events on culture-appreciation, yoga and meditation, and more.
The Aramsa Bloom spa: Top-to-toe rejuvenation
I selected the signature Aramsa Bloom package, which promised full body rejuvenation with a body scrub, massage, and facial. When it came to choosing my massage oil, I opted for the signature Aramsa oil, a blend of sunflower oil, lavender, geranium, lime, and palmarosa. The hint of lime paired with lavender made it both soothing and invigorating at the same time.
The experience kicked off with a botanical oil prep and a lavender floral exfoliation. This sloughs off dead skin cells while cleansing my pores. After washing off the scrub, my skin was feeling smooth and baby soft, ready for the next step – which my spa therapist promised would take the softness to the next level.
A full body massage with the Aramsa oil blend followed. Designed to tackle stubborn knots, my therapist kneaded away my points of tension while nourishing my freshly exfoliated skin with the rich Aramsa oil. Between the relaxing massage and the calming scent, I drifted off to cloud nine in no time.
Next, it was time for the superfood facial. It begins with a double cleanse and a papaya enzyme scrub to exfoliate the skin. If you’re familiar with acids and spicules in skincare, you’ll do just fine. It’s a tad stronger than the sensation you get from using the aforementioned skincare, but there’s way less discomfort than a microneedling facial.
After the scrub, my skin was treated to a rose serum that had a beautifully relaxing scent (it smelt slightly herbal with a dash of floral). And as if I wasn’t already feeling blissed out, this came with a rejuvenating face massage too. This facial came with two masks: a contour mask to remove impurities, and a lavender cream mask to deeply nourish the skin. Having gone through a hectic week, this was the glow-up that I needed to revitalise my complexion.
Props to my therapist for her incredible service. I loved that not a single minute gets wasted throughout the treatment. While the face mask was left to work its magic, she continued with the body massage, leaving no knots behind. I also have to give a shout to her attentiveness: in the middle of the facial, I suddenly had a cramp in my toes, and she swiftly came to the rescue, knowing exactly how to put me at ease. Psst: she said the cramp might be because I haven’t had a full body massage in a long time – so don’t go too long without a massage to promote better circulation!
A post-spa shower later, I had a sip of house brewed ginger tea and nibbled on biscuits as I toured the space. For those who fell in love with the products used during the treatment (as I did), you can bag them at the retail area beside the reception, featuring shelves of products from Elemis, The Face Planner, Skinceuticals, and Aramsa Spa itself.
If you’re in need of a little TLC (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), Aramsa The Garden Spa should be at the top of your list. I left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed – and I can’t wait to return for a full day of self-care next time.
