Following a three-month closure, Singapore’s official Pokémon store is set to reopen on 1 July 2026 with a revitalised space, a new symbol Pokémon, and specially designed commemorative merchandise. I had a sneak peek before its official (re)launch, and here’s what you can expect.
Pokémon Center Singapore: Details at a glance

A revamped store that’s easier to explore

Stepping into Pokémon Center Singapore, the first thing I noticed was how organised the store looked. There seemed to be more thought put into the layout of the retail sections, with an easier-to-navigate layout. The plushies are neatly categorised so you don’t have to spend too much time looking through the shelves trying to find your favourite Pokémon.

As I moved farther into the rear of the store, I came across an ocean-themed space, featuring Water-type Pokémon Vaporeon on one side of the wall, a large-format monitor on the other, and neatly arranged tables and chairs. I was told this area will be used for events centred around the Pokémon video games, trading card game, and mobile games. Imagine all the Pokémon card collectors congregating here and geeking out at each other’s collections.
Remember where the cashiers used to be? Well, they’ve been moved to the other side – taking over the spot where you could play Pokémon console games – along with an additional counter, facilitating faster transactions for customers.

My favourite is the interactive Pokédex near the cashiers. Here, you can touch the screen and scroll through the Pokémon to find your favourite(s) and learn about each one, including its type, height, weight, and strengths. It’ll definitely keep kids (and plenty of adults) entertained for a few minutes.
Meet Solgaleo, Pokémon Center Singapore’s new icon
The revamp introduces the legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo – recognisable by its sun-like mane – as the new symbol for Pokémon Center Singapore. Doesn’t it remind you of a certain half-lion, half-fish creature? According to Shunsuke Sasaki, Solgaleo was selected as a way to deeply connect with Singapore’s roots.

Visitors will spot Solgaleo at the entrance display alongside Pikachu, in front of animated images. Psst: pay close attention to the screen, which showcases familiar Singaporean landmarks! While you can take photos with the two Pokémon, please refrain from climbing, leaning on, or touching the Solgaleo statue and surrounding display.
Solgaleo is also featured on the official logo, which you can see up close on the right side of the entrance. Overall, it’s a thoughtful tribute that gives Pokémon Center Singapore an identity of its own.

While exploring the revitalised space, keep a lookout for the new interior. Notice anything familiar? Well, they are – the visual elements draw inspiration from our city’s traditional architecture and design. While I liked the Peranakan touches, I wished the tiles were more colourful. Conversely, I thought the motifs inspired by our local food culture were adorable.
Exclusive reopening merchandise arrives in two waves

To celebrate the grand reopening of Pokémon Center Singapore, a collection of commemorative merchandise has been specially designed for this occasion. The lifestyle items are being released in two waves – the first will take place on 1 July 2026, while the second wave is scheduled for 7 August 2026.
The first 12 lifestyle items you can get your hands on range from accessories and plushies to stationery sets and dinnerware. The kopi cup and saucer set ($35) will look cute on your display shelf (you wouldn’t want to use these ever!), while the strap keychains ($20) will zhush up your mobile phone or bag. If you prefer something more unique, the Pikachu with durian plush ($34) is one you should add to your cart.

Nothing strikes your fancy? No problem, the second wave might have you going “take all my money!” at the cashier. The August collection features Pikachu bag charms with local treats (durian, a cup of kopi, and a slice of pandan cake, $23), t-shirts, and tote bags. The prices are a little higher than expected, but I doubt this will deter fans from getting the merchandise.
Planning your visit? Here’s what to know

Pokémon Center Singapore’s reopening also marks the first full-scale renovation of a Pokémon Center outside Japan, coinciding with Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Very Poké-xciting, don’t you think?

Heads up: admission to the store will be managed in two ways during its reopening week (1 to 5 July 2026). Visits between 10am and 1pm require an advance reservation (the application period has concluded); from 1pm onwards, same-day entry queue tickets will be distributed from 8.30am on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.
Good luck and have fun trying to catch ‘em at the revamped Pokémon Center Singapore!
