We’ve got the scoop on Mandai Wildlife West: a family-friendly destination with fun playgrounds, a variety of delectable eats, and iconic attractions like Bird Paradise just a walk away!
You know Mandai Wildlife Reserve for attractions like the iconic Singapore Zoo or the brand new Bird Paradise (relocated from Jurong). You might have even tried its glamping stays for a safari-inspired wildlife staycation. But have you heard of Mandai Wildlife West? We had a peek at this under-the-radar destination with our colleagues from HoneyKids Asia and their little ones to see if it’s worth a visit.
Run, climb, and explore
From the moment we set foot in Mandai Wildlife West, we were greeted by an Instagram-worthy waterfall at the Waterfall Cavern. Snap a selfie with the cascading waters before embarking on your wild adventure, we say!

The kiddos had a blast here, that’s for sure. We watched them unleash their inner explorer at Pangolin Hideout – inspired by the burrows of these fascinating creatures. And if that’s not enough, Pangolin Adventure provided an exciting play experience with a range of fun structures for the little ones to explore. We cooled off at the Forest Stream Trail, where the kids can meander through rootlike structures inspired by mangrove forests.

Beyond the play areas, we’re stoked to find out that Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s renowned attractions (we’re talking about Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonders, and Night Safari) are just a walk or a shuttle bus ride away. That means you can plan a great day out with the fam right here!
Fuel up at fab cafes and restaurants

A fun day of play can be tiring, so we had to fuel our energy with delicious eats just a few steps away. If you’re craving a hearty meal, Collin’s offers premium Western cuisine with mouthwatering burgers, pasta, steaks, seafood and more.
Psst: that’s not all. There’s also A&W, Han’s Union, Luke’s Lobster, Leckerbaer, Mr Holmes Bakehouse, Old Chang Kee Coffee House, Pavilion Banana Leaf, and Starbucks to choose from. If you’re looking for a convenience store, there’s a Cheers outlet too.

We can’t say no to dessert, so a trip to Birds of Paradise was on our agenda. A scoop (or two) from this popular gelato boutique? That’s the perfect way to round off our meal. We recommend you try signature flavours like lychee raspberry and midnight gianduja chocolate. And don’t miss the fluffy orange zest pouf pancake, topped with two scoops of gelato for the perfect sweet treat.
Shop til you drop (sustainably)
But wait, there’s more! Explore eco-friendly finds at UnPackt 1st Zero Waste Store, a multi-concept shop with planet-friendly picks. Expect to browse through packaging-free groceries including pasta and confectioneries, alongside eco lifestyle products like lunch boxes and bags.
Our verdict? If you’re looking for a scenic outdoor space to take your kids, with convenient food options and iconic attractions nearby, Mandai Wildlife West is well worth a trip.
Tip: there’s also free parking daily from 6pm to 12am. Make it a full day out by adding a journey to Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonders, or Night Safari to your agenda!
