This is our go-to brand for organic Italian produce…
Start as you mean to go on, they say. This year, we’ve been shopping organic for better health (plus sustainability). And Alce Nero is making it a breeze. This organic brand was founded by two Italian farmers who wanted to grow food sustainably and with compassion for the land – perhaps that’s the secret sauce that makes the ingredients so tasty.
Do you know what’s in your food?
If one of your new year’s resolutions is to take better care of your body (join the club!), you’ve got to do more than just introduce more fruits and veggies to your diet. Take it a step further and start checking the nutrition labels at the grocery store. Keep an eye out for chemical preservatives, sugar and additives, as you don’t want to consume too many of those.
Go one up and make a move to organic food. Organic products are free of synthetic pesticides and artificial fertilisers, making sure that you are not introducing unwanted and unnecessary toxins into your body.
Easy does it…
It can be a challenge to go completely organic in Singapore, we know. Take baby steps – we reckon an easy starting point would be switching out some of staples, such as green vegetables, or your favourite pasta, to organic alternatives. From there, you can endeavour to move on to other food groups till your diet is totally organic!
Our favourite brand for organic groceries? Alce Nero is our pick – it specialises in organically grown produce from Italy, which you can use to whip up healthy and tasty meals. (Out of ideas? Check out the recipes on the website.)
Whether it’s a quick and healthy honey lemon drink using the organic wildflower honey, or a hearty bolognese using the organic spaghetti and tomato puree, Alce Nero’s products make it much easier to make the switch to organic.
Fun fact: Going organic is sustainable too
Yup, you’ll be doing a good deed for our environment too. Buying organic also means that you’ll be supporting farmers who use sustainable practices like crop rotation in place of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides.
Perks! So you’re a budding food photographer? Share your homemade pasta dish on Instagram and tag #Alcenerosg to be one of the five winners to walk away with an Alce Nero hamper worth $100 (open to all Singapore citizens and permanent residents).
