Visits to hospitals aren’t always the most pleasant or the happiest thing, but it will be on the 31 October 2014 as Sing’theatre, healthcare specialist Novartis and Singapore General Hospital (SGH) team up yet again for MusicFest@SGH.
Off the back of last year’s success, the event extends even further into more areas of the SGH campus in this edition, with more than 250 local and international performers entertaining patients, visitors and medical staff at lobbies, wards, clinics and gardens.
“Music has a therapeutic impact on our patients and visitors, and it is through such efforts that we hope to bring happiness to them, creating a soothing hospital environment,” says Mumtaj Ibrahim, Community Relations Manager of SGH.
There’ll be various 20-minute performances across the different spots including the National Cancer Centre, National Eye Centre and National Heart Centre. The event will peak at 7pm with the Concert Finale, featuring an ABBA tribute act by Cat Ong & Friends. Jonathan Leong, Sebastian Tan and jazz soloist and composer Andayoma will also be there to serenade the crowd. For the kids, Kimberley Creasman will be singing parodies of favourite Disney classics, guaranteed to make them smile.
