LA-based dream-pop trio Lany returns to Singapore with their bag of atmospheric synths. Their track ‘ILYSB’ became a mega-hit online, garnering over 14 million streams and increasing their fan base. Fans were finally given the real taste of Lany when they released their full-fledged self-titled debut album last year, loaded with tracks like ‘Super Far’ and ‘Good Girls’. So what can fans expect at this sold-out gig? A party of 80s radio pop, 90s R&B soul and a whole lot of dreamy synths.

The electronic picnic party is even bigger than its last boozy, blissful, beat-thumpin’ boogaloo with a killer lineup that includes Canadian multi-instrumentalist Pomo, energetic beats from Hernandez Brothers, Singapore’s very own indie duo .gif and many more. It’s also going full-on carbon neutral (high five to that!), including hosting a conscious market. Bring your own picnic spread and blankets, and remember that the excitement doesn’t stop there: all Garden Beats 2018 tickets come with an after-party entrance at mao.

Kilo Lounge Thursdays x Bacardi House Party x BigWig Music present Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde 25th Anniversary Album Tour
If there’s a party worth celebrating, it’s this timeless alternative hip-hop album. The album’s hit single ‘Passin’ Me By’ countered the gangsta rap that was taking over the airwaves in the 90s, garnering the group comparisons to De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest. Now you can listen to the whole album in its entirety as former members of The Pharcyde — Fatlip and Slimkid3 — will be bringing the same boyish charm and killer sounds to Kilo Lounge.

The iconic Grammy Award-winning Saharan blues band, Tinariwen band will treat audiences to their mesmerising desert blues grooves and electrifying stage presence. Rooted in traditional Tuareg music but influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley, Tinariwen’s music addresses political awakening, problems of exile, repression, and sovereignty reflecting the political turmoil of their native Northern Mali as the country struggles for independence. Over the years, Tinariwen amassed a devout following after an arduous journey of having their music bootlegged and traded around the region. Tinariwen were finally discovered by the masses in the late 90s and the rest was history: their songs left the Sahara and were introduced to the world.
Figure8 Agency Presents Tinariwen In Collaboration with Esplanade, 24 March 2018, Esplanade Concert Hall, 1 Esplanade Drive, Singapore 038981
