Here’s an idea for a spoil-yourselves-silly day: right after a much-needed mani and pedi session, a trip to the spa, and of course, plenty of retail therapy, book a spot at Mikuni and treat yourself to a fancy lunch bento set to celebrate Hina Matsuri (a.k.a. Doll’s Festival).
For the third-time running, Mikuni pays tribute to the annual Japanese festival Hina Matsuri (3 March 2015) – a day when families wish and pray for their daughters to lead a happy and successful life. From 1 to 10 March 2015, you can feast on gorgeous creations crafted by Executive Chef Moon Kyung Soo. The eight-course lunch bento set (priced at $88 per person) comes in a lovely tiered box with a dainty little handle, and features highlights like Mikuni’s stunning signature bara chirashi, and a 65 degree onsen tamago, accompanied by black truffle sauce and organic Japanese yam salad.
There’s also chef Moon’s expertly grilled soy braised silver cod, as well as the delicate organic fig tempura, which is cooked with sesame salt. Dessert comes in the form of raspberry ice cream, served as a meringue infused with Hibiki 21 year old whisky.
