You have one last chance to check out this monthly artist bazaar featuring live local music, art, crafts, fashion and food at Tanjong Pagar
It’s one of Singapore’s more prolific flea markets, housed in one of Singapore’s most iconic buildings. But come 7 April, it breaks my heart to announce that you’ll see the last of MAAD Pyjamas at the Red Dot Traffic Building. Say it ain’t so? If only.
For years, the monthly free bazaar has been a haven for artists, crafters, foodies and fashionistas; it’s showcased everything from paintings to threads, and rare thingamajigs you won’t find anywhere else. Other common sights you’d find here are live portrait-drawing sessions, and even regular gigs exhibiting the up-and-coming in Singapore’s indie scene thanks to Andy Yang’s MAAD Sounds.
So as you’d expect, the last instalment of MAAD at Red Dot is going out with a bang. Aside from more artpieces and trinkets galore for your retail therapy, the indoor, nighttime market will also host an ensemble of homegrown musicians – folk upstart JAWN, jazzy math-rockers T-Rex, instrumental soundscapers Wolf and the Moon, and rock & rollers General Lee. Your shopping soundtrack is all settled.
Farewell, MAAD! I’ll be catching you again soon, hopefully.
MAAD Pyjamas, 7 April, 5pm-12am, Red Dot Design Musuem, 28 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069120. Free entry.
