Eggs: all day, every day. We try the best bites from Eggslut Singapore, which opens its doors on 9 September.
Egg lovers, listen up. Eggslut is in town (literally, it’s along Orchard Road) and it’s an egg-cellent treat for those who love eggs in all forms. Hailing from LA, this food truck turned popular burger joint is opening on 9 September at 11am – so mark your cals if you want a taste. Read on for the highlights to try at Eggslut Singapore.
Scrambled for breakfast? Hell yes!
Wake up to fluffy scrambled eggs served with caramelised onions, cheddar cheese and sriracha mayo sandwiched between brioche buns. That’s the Fairfax, an all-time fave on the Eggslut menu and the perfect choice for a lazy morning. I had mine with the signature OJ and boy, was it a treat! The eggs were cooked to perfection – not too runny and not too stiff – while the buns were some of the softest I’ve ever tasted. Psst: you can also upgrade up your burger by adding bacon and avocado slices.
Coddled eggs with a twist
Eggslut takes coddled eggs to the next level with the addition of an amazingly smooth potato puree for the Slut. Cooked in a glass and topped with salt and chives, this rendition of coddled eggs is delicious and filling. Mix it up and have a scoop, or dip some toasted baguette slices and have it that way. I like the latter for the crunch of the baguette paired with the smoothness of the egg, but it’s tasty either way.
Wagyu and eggs for the meat lovers
Yes, there’s wagyu on the menu, too. Try the Gaucho if you wanna indulge in a burger with seared wagyu tri-tip steak, a medium egg, chimichurri, red onions and arugula. What’s a medium egg, you ask? It’s made like a sunny side up, with the extra step of flipping it over and cooking the top slightly. The yolk is still runny and drizzles beautifully over the pieces of tender wagyu, with the greens adding another layer of texture to this hearty bite. As for the drinks, I recommend washing it all down with one of the craft sodas on the menu (there’s elderflower & lemon or grapefruit & ginger) – these were created by local brewery, Brewlander, exclusively for Eggslut.
