Two new events for design aesthetes
Design enthusiasts and lovers of all things clever and cool: make time for a new night market and a password-only talk happening this Friday.
Geyworld by Mettle Work
Get your hands on artisanal hipster goods made by local creators like leather specialist The J.Myers Company, ceramist collective Weekend Worker and more at the first edition of Geyworld, a new design-focused night market organized by the “industrial social working class community” (as they call themselves) of co-working space Mettle Work.
Vinyl Social Club will be there to provide groovy analog sounds plus there are teas from The 1872 Clipper Tea Company, sweet treats from Oh! Confections and Desserts (OCD) and booze to be had while you shop a range of cool and chic lifestyle and fashion products. Try not to get lost: Mettle Work is located on the third floor of a metal factory (see details below), but if you have trouble finding the venue, we were told to ask the Geylang coffee shop uncle.
Geyworld, 25 July 2014, Mettle Work, Level 3, 50 Lorong 17 Geylang, Singapore 388570. Open 7pm-12am. Entry is free.
Cazapapeles

If designspeak sounds like music to your ears, reserve a seat at this new, invite-only monthly event by The Redundant Shop that aims to gather, inspire and breed collaboration amongst creative types with a series of talks by local and international designers. The upcoming first edition features artist Guillermo Juarez, one-half of Mexican-based art collective Cazapapeles (which means paper hunters in Spanish), who will be sharing inspirations behind his designs.
Thanks to the good folks at The Redundant Shop, you can snag a spot at the password-restricted talk – just email [email protected] with “Code: Honeycombers” in your message indicating your interest to attend. A Back Door Access password will be sent to you thereafter.
Back Door Access, 25 July 2014, The Redundant Shop, #01-22A Block 5, Everton Park, Singapore 080005, p. 6707-2005.
