When it comes to going green, we can all be doing more. After all, saving the planet is a wild ride that needs all hands on deck. If you’re up to do your part, here’s an immersive sustainability festival to bookmark. Back for its eighth edition, The Conscious Festival x i Light Singapore returns for two weekends (31 May to 2 June; and 7 to 9 June), along with a special event on 21 June.
Joining hands with i Light Singapore, Asia’s leading sustainable light festival, get ready for a cosmic playground to be created around Marina Bay. From hands-on fun to wellness experiences and insightful talks, scroll on for the exciting line-up!
1. Tickle your brain with thought-provoking talks and panels
One of the best ways to learn? Hearing from experts and joining in difficult conversations. This year’s festival is nothing short of eye-opening talks across a wide range of topics like the impact of AI, the potential of a conscious fashion industry, as well as the importance of grassroots efforts. From 1.30pm to 5pm on both weekends, come ready to listen and engage with renowned local and international speakers, thought leaders, visionaries and fellow sustainability champs!
2. Tune inwards at workshops for the mind, body and soul
After all that brain work, it’s time for a reboot – and the slew of wellness workshops will give you a welcomed breather. Led by expert local and regional facilitators, each session offers a tranquil sanctuary to enrich and heal your mind, body and soul. Join an immersive 9D breathwork sound therapy experience to keep stress and tension at bay; or sign up for a neuromuscular workshop that delves into the gap between science and spirituality. There are also sunrise dance sessions, cyclical breathing, yoga and astrology workshops that cater to every taste.
3. Level up your leadership at the transformative bootcamp
Calling all leaders: step up your conscious leadership game at the Conscious Leaders Bootcamp Powered by Alibaba Cloud! Held on 31 May, this full-day event boasts top changemakers and visionaries in attendance. This includes Clover Hogan (climate activist and founder of Force of Nature); Benjamin Horton (Director of the Earth Observatory Singapore); Ian Chung (Head of Singapore Global Network and Economic Development Board); as well as co-host Sean Lee Davies (impact entrepreneur, activist and CEO of Green is the New Black).
From 10am to 5pm, tune in to speeches on radical collaboration, circular economics and other thought-provoking themes; take part in workshops that’ll equip you with nifty leadership tools and insights; and chime in on panel discussions led by these thought leaders. Expect a game-changing experience that’ll inspire and empower you to lead the sustainability change.
4. Unearth eco-friendly gems at the vibrant marketplace
Wanna bring home a keepsake (or two) while supporting local and regional artisans? Make the Night Marketplace your next stop. Open on both weekends from 6pm to 10pm, this bustling bazaar features more than 30 conscious brands in fashion, beauty, tech, lifestyle and wellness, with unique knick-knacks and pre-loved items up for grabs. We’re all for saving the planet while getting our retail fix!
5. Awaken your senses with art and music all around
Now, a festival’s incomplete without some rockin’ tunes and fun. Soak in pulsating beats at the Conscious Concert, featuring a line-up of local and regional artists at the solar-powered DJ booth. From 7pm to 10pm on 8 June, the sky garden at South Beach Tower will be transformed into a vibrant tapestry of melodies and visuals. Using ingenious technology, visionary sound and light artist, Joey Dean from Natural Symphony, will mimic the natural biorhythms of plants to create stunning soundscapes. Grab your tickets at $60 each, inclusive of a plant-based snack and drink!
Oh, and you’d wanna set aside time for a mesmerising stroll around the light art installations, too. Crafted with energy-saving lighting and planet-friendly materials, these spellbinding installations are brought to life by local and international artists.
