From fresh oysters and crab to roasted duck and suckling pig, this new supercharged weekend brunch at Marina Bay kicks off in April
When it comes to the best brunches in Singapore, you know you can always count on us Honeycombers. We’ve given you the 101 on literature-themed brunches in offbeat locales, and street party brunches with live DJs and cigar crannies. But for the month of April, we’re upping the class factor with a brunch brimming with luxury and splendour, at one of Marina Bay’s most lavish hotels. At Oscar’s Supercharged Sunday Brunch that launches this month at Conrad Centennial Singapore, you can expect no flighty gimmicks and stuffy ground rules; just a gluttonous feast that’s absolutely perfect… For the latest – check out Oscar’s updated brunch menu here!
For those who love getting fishy
Sucker for seafood? This Supercharged Sunday Brunch doesn’t skimp on maritime fare with its Seafood Bar. On the surface, you’ll find freshly-shucked oysters, sweet snow crab legs, chunky Boston and Slipper lobsters and other seafood staples like prawns and scallops. And yes, if you like ’em raw, there’s a Japanese sashimi section too. Dive deeper into the spread, however, and you’ll discover the Chef’s Crab Creations – a rotational highlight where the hotel’s chefs take turns serving crab dishes inspired by France, Indonesia and more. These change every Sunday, so we won’t judge you for wanting to drop by for a second tasting.
For those who love watching chefs in action
If you have trust issues and need some proof that your food is served fresh, plant yourself at the carving station where you can devour Oscar’s famous roast London duck that’s both crispy and juicy. Suckling pigs are also slow-roasted Argentinian, Mauritian or Chinese-style here, as are oven-roasted US prime ribs that are ripe for the taking. Also available at your request are specialties from the organic pasta stations (choose from two types of pasta and a risotto), organic egg sections, noodle bars, and a foie gras counter which will definitely have us coming back for more.
For those who love staying healthy
It isn’t just about indulging in temptation here; clean eaters can also get their fill at Oscar’s Salad Bar – an astounding four-metre-long platter serving 10 small plates (try the quinoa with fava beans or the Vietnamese salad of sous vide duck breast with fresh herbs), eight dressings (the Champagne vinegar and yoghurt sounds divine), and over 30 toppings (think gluten-free mung bean chips and Arame wild seaweed). And just in case you need more of a cleanser, the Healthy Blitz section also whips up freshly-made shakes chock-full with superfoods.
For those who love some sweet treats
Yet on the opposite end of the spectrum, Oscar’s Decadent Desserts offerings will cater to diners who don’t mind piling on the calories with abandon. Keep your hands far away as chefs expectedly construct liquid nitrogen ice cream in sweet potato and vanilla flavours, though you’re more than welcome to get your mitts dirty with flambéed crepes suzette or homemade blueberry pancakes. Also offering a saccharine finale are delicacies like Oscar’s black forest cake, tofu and green tea panna cotta, and Cendol gula Melaka coconut espuma.
Without a doubt, your Sunday will be supercharged after this royalty-fitting buffet… unless the inevitable food coma gets better of you. But that’s okay; it’ll be absolutely worth it.
