Happening every month at the British-inspired gastropub and rooftop bar at Ann Siang Hill, Oxwell Towers: Four Floors of Frolicks changes the game of weekend brunch
Buzz is always brimming when it comes to this dapper establishment on the intersection of Ann Siang and Club Street. Now especially, since this British-inspired gastro-pub unveiled its swanky rooftop garden barely two months ago. And when you think of Oxwell & Co, flashbacks of your past debaucherous revelries would usually flood your memory; nights of mayhem you’d never forget (or you’d want to, if you’re the embarrassing type of drinker). But what if we could give you one reason why you should swing by Oxwell & Co during the day? Heck, we can give you four.
Joining the weekend brunch scene in full force, Oxwell & Co has launched a new monthly brunch party series titled Oxwell Towers: Four Floors of Frolicks. As you can probably guess, this ascendant occasion makes use of all four floors of the Oxwell & Co building, offering a distinctively transportive experience within each one. Don’t expect a simple sit-down affair here; exploration is key while you sip ’til you’re sloshed and munch on the free-flow small plates cooked up by Head Chef Nick Scorpion. Explore how? Let us fill you in.
1st Floor: Dance and Dine in the Gastrobar
Shake yourself awake from the weekend languor with the sublime house tunage of DJ Patrick Oliver. And once you’ve worked up an appetite from all that dancing, dig into traditional snacks like crackling pork scratchings, stuffed Scotch eggs and crispy corn and cumin. Drink ’em down with an Estrella Damn lager or a Pimms Cup on tap – all drinks are free-flow too!
2nd Floor: Mingle in The Dining Room
Help yourself to a glass of sparkling wine or A/X rosé, and catch some conversations with your fellow brunchfolk within this cosy, classic interior. With British comfort food like mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish (or corn), oxtail and mash pastries, mini fish ‘n’ chips and rarebit toasties, you’ll never wanna leave your seat. Except you should, because…
3rd Floor: Class it up in the Oxwell Study
Bask in the sophisticated ambience of this English-styled drawing room, and plonk yourself down on a comfy vintage armchair. This isn’t just a habitat for stuffy academics; the only thing you’ll be studying here is the fancy assortment of desserts such as the creamy, custard-like lemon posset with shortbread pots, and the fruity meringue-mixed Eaton Mess. Up the posh factor with a Monkey Shoulder Old Fashioned.
4th Floor: Chill like a King on the Rooftop Bar
The newest area of Oxwell & Co is used just as effectively and invitingly. The breezy rooftop space – exclusively designed by Hendrick’s Gin – will get you tipsy on gin-infused long drinks, all enhanced with herbs from the surrounding garden. And to top off this regal brunch bash? There’ll be cigars at the ready – don’t mind if we do.
Oxwell Towers: Four Floors of Frolicks, 19 March and 23 April (subsequent monthly dates to be announced), 1pm-4pm, Oxwell & Co, 5 Ann Siang Road, Singapore 069688, p. 6438 3984. Price is $95++ per person, includes free-flow food and alcoholic beverages. Tickets can be purchased at this website.
